If I am getting you right I don't think Futaba has a "model match" feature. The RX binds to the module so that RX won't talk to any other modules. That means that all of your RX's will talk to your module, it is up to you to ensure the proper model selection. This is also the case with FM and PCM except with FASST other radios can't transmit to your RX's.

If the wings are travelling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

You should make the following preflight check before EVERY flight:

1. switch on the radio (Tx).
2. check the Tx screen to varify correct model selection.
3. switch on the Rx.
4. Varify all servos moving correctly.

This simple preflight has the potential of saving many models from crashing, since many people dont do it and end up.. well.. in the ground sometimes.

Use the model picture feature and upload a picture of each model.

Then you will have an instant visual image of what model is currently in use.

remember to place the correct picture with the correct model

Very good advice! I also have an audio file that tells me the name of each model when the transmitter is first turned on.

i had an interesting thing happen a couple of weeks ago,
had a friend fly my 600N to check it out, he flew it but said the engine didn't seem to work with the govenor.
anyway flew the crap out of it and landed and while we were checking it, noticed that we were flying it with one of my my 600E programs.
I guess that having set up every heli i own in the same way allowed this mistake not to be fatal to the heli.
changed to the proper heli program and now the throttle works great.
I REALLY CHECK models now, and for information i also have pics of my heli's on each program, need to look. c-ya Ron

Please cancel my clearance, I have the field in sight.

I once owned a Robbe/Futaba FC28c radio. It had a great feature that you could set it so everytime you turned on your xmitter it went straight to Model Select.

If there is anyone here working for Futaba please please can we have this feature added to the 14mz.

99% of the time when I turn on my xmitter it is to select a model (1 of 13) that differs from what I last flew 10 minutes previous.

Secondly its a great safety feature.
