Radio - Futaba FASST > Futaba 7C 2.4 and USB / Phoenix Sim

A colleague of mine has just bought a 7C 2.4 FASST set together with the Phoenix simulator.

Problem we have is that we are unable to get the radio to work with the simulator. I guess it's because the radio is not in PPM mode, but we can't find the place the set it either. The manual for the 7C does refer to setting the modulation, but there's no place to actually do it. I would expect to find it under the PARA menu, but no such luck. Does the 7C 2.4 FASST actually support PPM?

So, the second thing to try was to enable trainer mode. However, when enabling this it does not look like it is possible to actually get from OFF to ON when using the trainer switch. Would it require a second transmitter to be connected before ON would show when flicking the switch?

I'm cities away from the equipment so I can't do any hands on checks. Anyone got any good ideas? anyone with a 7C FASST kit that could try enabling the TRAINER function without anything connected and see if it will allow you to get to ON.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,
Thomas

I'm using a 12FG 2.4, what I can get it works is enable the trainer mode and set it to student mode...

Thanks for the input tgo.

But the 12FG has a completly different software than the 7C (I'm using 12 FG myself), so the config will be different on 7C.

what puzzles me is that when trainer is changed from INH to OFF, it is still not possible to use get input to the simulator via usb, or to get the ON sign in the display when flicking the H switch (or any other switch for that matter). It might be that it doesn't reflect the switch ON position in the display - but I would expect it to since even my old FF7 changes from OFF to ON in that respect.

Regard,
Thomas
