I am putting one of these into my Raptor 50SE. So far setup has been straight forward once you get past the radio. Per the instructions, you will not need a head tach for setting the rpm. The unit is small and easily mounted. We'll see how well it works.

No,No..The other left!

GV1 = slow, old, large, heavy and fragile - oh and bloody expensive too!

Any body have any tips on mounting magnets on a Raptor 90. The 50 and 39 were easy to mount due to the sockets for magnets on the cooling fan. The 90 on the other hand has no sockets on my metal fan. Any tips or point me to the proper thread would help out greatly.

I think I encountered a problem with the settings on my MultiGov today. This is my first MultiGov on a a Pantera 50. The MG is set to "Off" for Normal FM, 1850 for FM#1, 1850 for FM#2. I was hovering just off the ground in Normal FM, when I switched to FM #1, the head speed increased very quickly, to the point that one of the Main Blades trailed behind the blade grip, causing a severe out of balance condition.
The blade could not catch up, which caused the main shaft to bend. This made thing very bad, lucky for me I got it shut down before the rotor blades hit the ground.
Damage:
Main Shaft
Spindle Shaft?
Tail Boom
Tail Fins
Tail Rotor Blades

Is there a setting to control the rate of engine/rotor speed increase?

/\ sounds to me like ur blade wasn't tightened enough from the get go? That or it was and u ran 3,000 rpm??

Glad to hear the damage wasn't too severe.

I've been running a TJ Pro on my 50 for a couple years now and have had absolutely no problems. Setup was a pain in the a$$ and if you asked me how to set one up I couldn't tell you without my radio in front of me or the notes I kept. I'm running a GV-1 on my R60 and while setup was a lot easier i don't think it holds as well as the TJ. Sorry i don't have any experience with any other Govs but I've been looking at the multigov.

Have Fun! Mike

Well I had the same thing happen this weekend, only when mine revved to extremely high R's and the connecting rod blew taking out the piston in mid flight I did auto in with no damage. When I hit the switch to go in FM2 it just revved til it blew......mine is going back to Aerospire to get checked out....
