Sorry to hear about this but I'm honestly not surprised. I haven't sent mine back because I don't trust them. I'm not paying NZ$50 for Tracked mail on the slim chance they'll give me US$80 store credit. I'm simply not buying from them again.

Would you care to make a statement on this forum

If you choose not too you can basically say bye bye to any repeat customers from the U.S. and Canada

We shall see if they want repeat bussiness
I stand by my fellow hobbiest when it comes to companies trying to play us for fools

I personaly will boycot their company but I'm not a 1 man army it takes all of us to co-operate and boycot together

I had the same problem with mine. Different brand..
The only thing is that flew the Helicopter for 2 years without crashing and I never removed the blades. The only reason I found out .. I broke the tail boom and I wanted to check everything else just in case and I found this in both blades. I can call Vick for a credit...
Here is a similar picture.

The issue involving the blade loop 'migration' which is illistrated in the first post is an old issue which has since been rectified. All customers who had this issue and sent the blades back have received a refund or replacement.
We also stock several brands of heli blades, including the z-weave style which are also branded as Align.

The 'you get what you pay for' adage is certainly true, especially so when marketing, brand and price-point's are involved.

Anyone who has had trouble with these blades, or any of our products should contact support regarding replacement.
All returned items are replaced, credited or refunded.

Hobbycity. You guys are cowboys. You ignore emails and compliants and brush people off with return goods as stated in the terms and conditions. There's no point in returning stuff half way around the world when they are only worth US$100. You know this very well and use it to fuel your sub-stand practices. I do not blame you when the product is defective as you buy from other suppliers. But you really threat your customers like idiots.

Anyone reading this. Stay away from hobbycity. I've learnt my lesson with 4 sets of useless CF blades.

Flame out.

You got to give them credit for replying.
I have dealt with Hobbycity in the past and have found them to be a stand up company. Ya they may be a little slow to reply to email but they do reply.
You may have to pay shipping to return them but when you pay 20$ for 600mm carbons you should be the one taking a risk.
It has been my experience to choose a moderately priced blade to reduce this risk.

I have bought the following blades from them with no issues

1x #SKB-C550SS/6252 Full Carbon Fiber 550 size blades (550 x 50mm)
variations = $33.25
1x #SKB-C325B/6254 Full Carbon Fiber 400 size blades (325mm) variations
= $18.95
2x #TIG_tail_93/6605 TIG 93mm Carbon Fiber Tail Blade variations =
$22.86
1x #TIG550/6595 TIG 550mm Carbon Fiber Z-Weave (type 2) variations =
$45.72
the last one I bought for a friend and he does 3d with them

I have also bought these lipo's from them with no issues

We have quite a number of email staff dedicated to responding to customer emails and sorting problems.
We replace products and help customers out on a daily basis and at a large cost.
We're not cowboys, unless of course a cowboy is someone who attempts to drive better value into the grossly overpriced hobby market.

It's all too easy to sling sarcasm at people in another country who are doing things a little differently. However I can assure you that we're an honest and straight forward company. And taking a look at our growth over the last two years it's clear that a couple of hundred thousand other hobbiests agree.

We're going to be in the market for a long time, and intend to rectify any issue anyone has with our service or products. Of course we can't fix hearsay and conjecture.

Read your own support forum mate. Littered with peoblems. Look up my order and case history Order ID 200115486. Stick to the facts please!

People are attracted by the cheap prices (me too). I am not being sarcastic. Merely expressing my disatifaction based on my poor experience with you guys. Once bitten twice shy.

BTW, I do not treat HK as another country. I was born and raise there and go back a couple of times a year. I even offered to talk on the phone to resolve the case since I speak 100% Cantonese (poor English language skills with staff was used as an excuse on the forums for problems) but no reply (your phones are never answered).

I've been buying some electric stuff from HC and got a bad ESC. Sent them an email asking if they had a US address for returns. They replied sure and gave me a P.O. box here in the States. My ESC came back in the mail marked "undeliverable". I called the post office and the box has never been used. I sent HC an email a few days ago asking if they gave me the wrong address. Haven't heard back yet

BTW I did buy some of those carbons in 550 size. Not sure I'll use them.

I have place a few orders form HC and for the most part I've been happy until the last order. I mostly order stuff for my electric foamies. 1m of heat shrink for .35 cents is not bad. Just don't order anything too expensive and assume if things go wrong you're out I think I'll stick to Heliproz for the important stuff (you know... Helis

I think all this flaming on Hobby City is defintely uncalled for.

As the saying goes, you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

If you are doubtful of the cheap prices that hobby city quotes for its products, dont buy them- its as simple as that.

However there is a big enough market of clients who are willing to take a crack shot at the cheap prices in the hope they do receive quality products - and are duly rewarded for them.

How can one flame up on hobby city simply because they got a couple of lousy blades which they paid cheap money for?

If you paid $150k for a Ferrari and run into problems, you do have every right to walk into a dealer and scream your head off.

But come on, you paid $2 for a chinese made car and make qualms about its quality and the fact that it wont start the next day? Thats absurd.

There is a market for everyone. Hobby city quotes cheap prices probably because they keep their overheads low. And unfortunately this could mean hiring employees with poor english who are probably paid a paltry of the salary that you guys draw for the same menial jobs that u do in your country.

bad blades

Hi,
sorry for your blades
but it's remember me the thirst génération of Align blades !!they have big problem too
more and more of new items cause problems because firm don't test it for long time, because it cost very mutch money to do that.
when firm have those desagrement, they try to get a solution, but it's not sure because, it's just one pair of blades for the momment.
In France, consumer look like cobaye it's you who are tested new product and say to the firm if it's good or not
it's the bad reality
sorry again

now if you go and buy the cheapest they have thats your gamble
They do have good quality stuff

The cost shouldn’t come into the equation, if they market a product at any price it should still be fit for the use it was intended for.
If the blade came off and killed someone who is to blame then I wonder?
