Noticed something not quite right with one of my main blades...

First flight with these. Shocking. Could have ended very badly.

These were the cheap 600mm CF blades from hobbycity/unitedhobbies. Now I know why they were so cheap.

Can anyone recommend some safe but cost-competitive CF or FG brands suitable for a semi-beginner?

Are Align CF blades any good? What about RJX fibre-glass?

OMG!! Thanks for including that photo!

The Align 600mm blades have been fine for me. I own several pairs along with other more expensive sets.

Wow that is kinda dangerous I guess the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true. If those blades are fairly new I would give them a call and remind them of the safety/liability factor with their poor quality blades.

Cheers

Whoa Thanks for sharing! Just out of curiosity, what kind of
headspeed when that happened?

BTW, I also had good luck w. the Mavvrick's; NEVER had anything like
that happen; good if you are just doing basic flight/basic aeros, autos, etc.

JEEZ.

I haven't ever seen that. No excuse for that kind of quality. I have some Align 600's that I like qute well, they are a bit lighter than Radix so they get a little pitchy and unsettled feeling when going fast backwards. 2nd thought, it might not be the weight but more the cord wise CG of the blade. HMMMM. Oh well, at any rate the Align blades are fine, as are MS's.

Good job catching those blades, that could have ended up killing someone or at least crashing your heli for you.

I would be talking to someone about a refund.

The TT carbons are affordable and fly good. The Mavrik G5's are not too pricey as long as they fly better than the G4's.

Go with the cosmetically flawed Radix blades. $67 a pair for 600mm blades!.....Ron

Hi everyone,

Yes, pretty shocking eh?

My headspeed was a little above 1600 RPM.

I've emailed the retailer but haven't heard back yet.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'm shopping around a bit.

I'm a bit limited in what I can find, living in NZ life is like that. However I've heard GCT blades are good - am thinking of the fibre-glass ones for hovering and basic flight. Any comments please?

Not normal. I've never seen blades like looking like that before. Could just be a bad pair.

I wish I could fly 24/7

Maverick parts are very substandard. I now wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

That blade is the worst, the other three are all showing signs of 'hole migration' to a lesser degree. I'm not using any of them again.

Stock number was "SKB-C600B"

Someone I know has the silver ones from the same site, and he can't see a problem with them. I wouldn't trust them myself now though.
