Well the first thing I was going to say, was are you sure you have the right one,, but if you got the one, for the RC230,, then it should work??? I haven't set up one on the RC230, do you have to remove the wire from the kill switch??? XGM/VGM

I have read here on this forum lots of guys with problms with the CSM/Stator Gator combo. When I bought my StatorGator I email them and aked what Gov to buy. He said stay away from the CSM and buy a Futaba GV1. Guys have made it work[CSM] and reported their findings here. Do a search.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly better than I can pilot them

Sorry but that’s just not true, I run two gassers with the CSM/Stator Gator combo and they both run fine, there’s nothing wrong with the CSM if you get your engine tuned right first.

I used to use a RL10 and it didn't like the gas engine much. I also used it with a SG. If I had the governor active before the engine was up to speed, it would surge the throttle. Other than that it worked ok. IMHO the GV-1 works MUCH better with the SG than the RL10. I think that the RL20 is supposed to work better than the RL10 with the SG.

Sorry but it is true! That is what I was told. I bought a GV1 with a StatorGator and its fine. I have never tried the CSM /Stator Gator although I have 2 CSM govs for my nitros and they are great.

"Its True", "That is was I was told", and "I never tried one" all in the same reply !

I have both a GV-1 and an RL10. I have run them both on my Predator with a 230.

The GV-1 seems to be less sensitive to the fluctations in the signals from the SG than the RL10. The RL10 is far too sensitive and forces throttle corrections that cause surging on the engine. The GV-1 seems to be less "reactive" to these changes.

Depending on how "tuned" your engine is, these can be pretty bad or pretty mild.

I have since switched to the GV-1 permantely. I have also found out that if your engine is pretty well tuned (follow Billme's directions, having a GV-1 or RL10 does not offer you much in terms of performance or protection.
