WOW! This Rave looks excellent! Based on looks alone, I like this one better than MA's.

This might be a good time to sell the T-rex.

this wee heli is a must buy,i'm going to run mine on a 4s setup
with 350 blades but would like the option to try 6s,can anyone
advise me of a motor & esc that could run both 4s & 6s.
cheers

Their isn't a motor that can run both 4s and 6s due to the kv rating being so fare apart. You will have to pick 4s or 6s then choose your motor accordingly. Their isn't any way around it.

For 4s your going to shoot for a kv of around 2900 give or take a little. On 6s their are currently three motors to pick from... Outrage 1600kv, Outrage 1700kv or Medusa 28-40-1700.

The Outage motors are rebranded Z-Powers. They work awesome and run cool making tons of kick ass torque. Don't let the low price of them fool you, they are very nice motors.

The Medusa on the other hand runs hotter than the surface of the sun. They are heavy as hell weighing in at around double the weight of a Outrage 1700kv.

Scorpion has a new 1630kv motor that's going to hit shelves soon. It's made to run on 6s and weight about 80 grams. I was told at IRCHA it would be out in 2 weeks. We'll see.

Their are a few ESC's that can take 4s or 6s... with my favorite being the Jazz 40-6-18. Simply can't beat it's easy programing, flawless governor and onboard BEC.

Another is the Castle Phoenix 30-HV. You will need to buy a Castle BEC as it doesn't have one built in. That will drive the price up to as much as a Jazz 40-6-18. May as well get the Jazz.

If your on a tight budget you can go with a Hobby Wing Pentium 40. It works good from what I'm told but doesn't have a gov mode. If you don't mind running fixed end points then it should work ok for most users.

Hope that helps...

There were only 10 kits released to the public at IRCHA for retail sale. Other kits were given to team pilots. These were to allow the public to get the actual kits in hand so they could go through them. Any minor issues are being addressed now, and more kits with lots of parts will be on the way. We wanted the first run VERRRRY short on purpose. 10 or 20 problems are easy to address, 2000 is much more difficult. Rest assured guys, we intend to have a very high quality kit to you very soon.

Brian

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

Shawn,

I'm hoping ReadyHeli will be carrying it but so far the only place I've seen it listed is RCHover. I sure wish Curtis would hurry up. Someone needs to tell him and Brian that sleep is overrated

Curtis and or Brian,,, question for you...

Since obviously the Rave is going to be abit larger in legth than the 450 t-rex do you have plans to make a carrying case for the Rave?? If not please do think of this, as it would be most excellent to have a case for this little heli .

Thank you, Shawn

If everything works out as planned we should have kits and parts by the end of this month. Where they will be going after that I am not sure.

Just a note from my experience:
The kit comes with 2 different paddles, shorter and longer ones. The shorter ones are ideal for a more sport/smooth setup, and really makes the machine fly like a big helicopter. The longer more aggresive paddles really speed up the head, of course it still flys like a bigger helicopter, it is just much quicker. The difference was drastic IMO and it made an awesome machine even better.
