Once I use up my crash parts, I will sell my Align 450 and this will be my 450 size heli. Very nice. This and the Vibe 50 have one my heart! -Actually, I think Curtis was involved in Vibe design as well.

Hey Guys,
Here is the latest. The retail price is going to be right at 510.00 for the kit. Which will include the scorpion 6 next d branded motor, and a set of Radix 325mm blades. ESC will not be included.
We've had some very minor delays in getting a few of the last parts. But its nothing to cause a huge delay, very minor. I've spoken with Curtis and he said we should be seeing kits delivered to us in the next two to three weeks, so I would expect them to be in shops by mid July.
I will continue to keep you all informed, and I want to stress this is only a minor thing as we get all the parts together and start packing the boxes.

Will it be available without the -6 motor? Or an option for the -8 version instead?

From my understanding, is that the first batch will only have the 6. Moving forward, they will offer options kits. Thats from MY understanding. As of now, it is, what it is.

Now, I dont know if they will offer the 8 option. I THINK they will offer without the motor and the 350mm. Me, I have a 10 to put into it, with a 35s BEC/ESC.

Curtis, Zack, Brian.

I will like to know what cyclic and tail servos, ESC, gyro will be the best option for this baby???
I prefer JR metal gear servos.
I will like to start buying what I need.

Thanks...

Mine has JR DS285 MG's for the cyclics, 3400G for the tail, Mini-G gyro, Align 35X speed control, stock Next-D Scorpion 6, Spektrum AR6100E receiver, and FlightPower 2170 3S lipos. This set up works GREAT for me! I beleive Curtis's is the same with the exception of the Scorpion 10 and 4S on one of his machines. The other I beleive is the same as mine right now. Hope this helps some.

Brian

Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

good news on the release and final pricing!
little concerned about the price point on it though.
specially when compared to the Beam E4 which kinda set the bar pretty high recently.

USNA,
Don't forget that it comes with the hot setup motor and the best blades I have flown to date.

Oh I agree and I've seen the Rave up close and personal and I know its a fantastic machine and I do want one very much. Ive been touting its praises all over to everyone that will listen and wearing my shirt and hat to every RC gathering I go to.. and running a thread on RCgroups mirroring all this info there as well trying to drum up more interest.
but I think the price is still a tad high especially when looking at the Beam.

When we talked to the guys at the Houston Heli Fun Fly they assured us that the price point was not going to be set to be the highest out there nor the lowest.
Right now as of today they are the highest out there for a performance 450 with just a motor and blades.

everyone knows the TRex SE has been Overpriced for a while and peeps are undercutting it now all over the place.

To unseat the rex as king of the 450s you are gonna need 3 things.. better price.. (Beam and the Mini Titan SE are on top price wise)
better parts support locally (Align has this wrapped up right now)
better engineering and quality (Rave and the Beam both have this)

even adding and buying a -6 Scorpion and Radix 325s retail my price is still only 430.. with a complete Beam E4 kit which blows the doors off a Trex SE as well for more heli.

thats a pretty big margin.

Oh well still buying one just to be one of the first just a tad disappointed in the large price tag.
specially being you can find brand new deals for the Trex 450 SE V2 in the 365 range now as well.
