Nice job Dino. Keep us posted. This is the next chapter so as to maintain the 700 performance advantage over the 600's. I wonder what the other manufacturers have under wraps right now??

What a big jump! From a 0.90 to a 1.06...is that even legal?

Does it use the same bolt pattern as teh current 90's for the engine mount and muffler? There appears to be a 3rd point of support at the end of the crankcase?

Wow, thats sweet!

Man I think there needs to be a jump in all engines from the 50 sized on up.

50 => 60 sized
90 => 100+ sized

Nitros need to get on the same page as electrics

Keep us posted.

bolts

The 106 will bolt up to the currant 91 motor mounts. The mount up front comes off it’s for pattern type flying, it is held on with orings.

It uses a unique exhaust port

I thought they were releasing a 96? Is there going to be a 96 and 106?

It was shown as a "96" at Toledo, not a "106".

96 or 106

Yes the case said 96 but it’s really a 106 there will not be a 96 the unique exhaust port is being worked on not sure if they are going to stick with that. I was told that there might be two one with the unique exhaust port and one with an OS style so other muffler mfg can make exhaust systems for it. It has a 11mm bore carb also its going to be a power house for sure.

Do FAI and AMA rules still restrict the engine size to 90?

Not sure why a company would make an engine that’s legal for competation.

I imagine there would be a large market for non competition types as well. In the world of "bigger is better" they will sell a ton of these.

Ben-T-Spindle,

When 90's were first introduced, they weren't legal in some competitions either. Rules were later ammended to include them.

There's really no need for a rules change until there's a need for a rules change. When a larger engine size is "standardized" (that is, when manufacturers start making engines of roughly the same displacement), then the rules will be revisited.

I'll tell you my first thought about a 1.06 - I'd hate to see the fuel bill for that monster. My 90 is a gas hog as it is!

more info

HP MORE then any other 91 out there in any configuration

FAI no it’s not legal for FAI.

Release date, I rather not comment on that at the moment, I hope you all understand that if I say a time line and it doesn’t happen then its egg on my face, but it is coming

Fuel usage it’s no worse than any clined big bore mod OS I have.

The Redline 53 didn't take that long for its release after it was released, so I would guess this engine will be released in the next few months.
