I've been shooting consistent sharp aerial photos using autofocus for years, so I would have to beg to differ. In all my experience with different lenses I've found the focus at infinity changes slightly with different aperture settings, so I'm never really at infinity on focus. Also, when we're shooting inspection photos we have to have autofocus. We could be anywhere from 8 feet to 100 feet from our subject in the same flight.
The photo shows what the LCD looks like in liveview. This is the same as on your video output, which is nice because it displays the camera data just like you see it.
BTW, for those of you who have made a video tap using the Canon eyepiece extender for the Xti, you'll have to do some creative "carving" with a blade to get it to fit on the Xsi. Not a big deal but be prepared.
