e-Robbe Eolo > tail assembly keeps exploding

I have a spirit pro SE,with a total of 2 hours airtime.
In those 2hours,the m2x12 screws which secure the tail blade holder
to the hub has snapped twice.
This is driving me CRAZY!!!
As anyone had this same problem.

thanks

you might have overtorqued thise screws into the hub, thus the hub threads being worn out
get a new hub, do not overtorque those crews and use threadholder

thanks comet
the threads on the hub are not worn, the bolt snapped off, clean,at the hub.the remains are still in the hub.
will try some hardened bolts.
rc hover use to have a upgraded hub but no longer carries it and i can't find it anywhere else.

you can put a trex 450 hub on it, the trick will be trying to find blades long enough

keepin' it real

Helidirect.com carries carbon fiber 68mm tail blades for Lepton that works perfectly for Eolos.

drill and tap for 2.5mm they wont break... 2s will I must have blown them 6-8 times ... you have to get bearings for them too as I remember I think we used 3 bearings in each blade grip also. should solve your problems up to about 3200 rpm.... yes hirbo tail blades are what I was using also but they were from a shuttle I think... the other one wasn't out and I had to trim them at the root to work...

if I remember well, I didn't like the way the blade holder pressed on the hub; I though they were kinda loose...

that's why I am using a VoyagerE tail rotor hub (with stock eolo screws, blade holder and carbon TRblades); though you need to dremmel down a litlle, on the hub, the part on which the blade holder presses.

also, don't overtighten the blades in the holders so you get descent articulation (remember, all rotors need lead/lag articulation as well as flaping articulation). If not, all efforts will go directly to the screw sometimes causing rupture.

I must say though, I dont really understand how bolt could break on you several times maybe sabotage

thanks for all the input.
I did notice that the blades were a little snug in the holders.
not sure now how tight they should be.also, the bearings are a little snug in the holders.
monday,rc market is going to look for the hub upgrade, they also suggested replacing the carbon blades from the kit ,as they may be unbalanced.

Hello windburn,

I recall on your using an "se" version, this is metal tail balde holders I presume.
Must say, I haven't been using those, but the use of lighter, stock plastic ones, may solve your issue.

Good luck
