| Thats what I had to do.... get the metal casing off, then seperate the circuit board from the LCD, then the foil backing came off easy, and I should have left it like that, but I messed up the adhesive that held the foil on, so I had to then get the adhesive layer off... the only thing that worked was acetone, and it took forever. my lost line came from the fact that there are conductive strips embedded in rubber that transmit the signal from the circuit board to the LCD itself, and after I took them off, I cannot seem to get them to line up perfectly. sometimes I get a garbled screen, sometimes I have an extra line, and sometimes a missing line.... I can never seem to get the strips lined up prefectly, and eventually gave up with a line missing....
If I were to do it again, I would take off the foil backing, leave the adhesive in place and not remove the conductive rubber strips from the LCD... If i would have done it that way, it would have taken a lot less time and come out perfectly....
But Honey, I can't live with just stock..... |
