Hello, I was just wondering.....

If I'm using a 9Z to buddy box does it require that I use another 9Z as the dummy box? Or can I get away with just a regular 4-channel Futaba radio?

Yes, that will work. I've done it many times. It also works the other way.

Use FUNC mode on the master box, that way the buddy box will only be used as 2 sticks, all the programming would go through the master box.
