| 1. White Base coat, must be the brightest white you can get, I use strait white toner.
2. Degrease the white before shooting. I know......The data sheet says not to touch it.......But ANY oil from your fingers, or surface defects will show right through the Neon.
3. Three thin coats, and make sure that you do not stop the gun over the surface to change directions with out releasing the trigger. I.E. squeeze the trigger and hold it off the product, make your pass, then release the trigger once you have past the other end of the product(canopy).
4. overlap on the bottom of the canopy, because that's where it will show the lease(same with clear)
5. Do not put decals on the neon paint. Clear first, let dry, sand with 1000, then decals. then final clear. I have found that in the process of putting the decals on, you will leave finger prints that will show. I addition, if you don't like the decal position, and you pull it off and move it, it will remove some of the pigment from the Neon, and it might show, if not right away, it will when it starts to fade. You must keep it out of the sun light until it has a coat of clear on it. I had one that was masked with some 3M plastic mask, and the sun light through the window in the shop caused the the "3M" in the plastic mask to transfer or "burn" a faint image into the neon. I did not catch it till the canopy was cleared and ready to ship.
6. Paint, let dry for 20 minutes or so out of the sun, then clear right away. that will protect the neon from UV and over spray from other graphics.
Cheers Dave
