Look at the picture!! the little head from the sensor is totally free in the air between the fins, the silicone is only supporting the sensor.

So, how is everyone getting the sensor out? I put mine in with Arctic silver and it finally failed. Do I just have to grind it out with a Dremel? I'm thinking that the next one will go in with RTV.

I got mine out by brute force and ignorance

Pain in the **** to be honest, but it does chip away and you can get most of it out.

Put my new sensor in tonight, hooked it up and it worked the servo as it should, i.e going to full lean on startup, so we shall see.

Hopefully i'll get to try it out tommmorow at the field as long as I sort my clutch drag problem and the weather is 'ok'

Exactly ! You need to sense the cylinder head temp , not the air temp around the cylinder ! The air around the cylinder will always be much cooler than the cylinder , it's air cooled !

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

Yep you're sensor needs to be in 'thermal' contact with the cylinder either by direct touch or using a thermally conductive compound like high temp rtv, or arctic silver epoxy.

holco - Here are the specs.

Everything is the same except for the following.

NCP18WF104103RB(Chip Type) - Perm. Op. Current = .10mA, Typ. Dissipation Constant = 1mW, Thermal Time Constant = ?, Rated Electric Power = 100mW

NTSD0WF104FE1B0(Heavy Duty) - Perm. Op. Current = .14mA, Typ. Dissipation Constant = 1.5mW, Thermal Time Constant = 7sec, Rated Electric Power = 15mW

So what's the end result with these sensors? Anyone using them successfully?

Yep used mine yesterday on my OS70. Had mid position set to 1 1/2 turns out on the high speed, and it was clearly regulating temp. I had the carbmart set to 100, and came in from some 6 min circuits, stall turns, rolls etc.. and as it cooled down it went from rich to lean. After that I changed it to 110. So yeah, engine sounds sweet, plenty of power, and nice smoke trail.

my second sensor has 38 flights on it and so far so good. First one lasted 20 flights.

Which sensor, the CS sensor or the Mouser sensor?

Did you ever install the Mouser temp sensors on you YS50?

Are the Mouser sensor's more robust? Should they be mounted using RTV epoxy, fuel tubing????

Any long term reports?
