I don't think the chopper has anything to do with it unless you have not grounded your tail boom or have not used RF chokes. If those things are good, start looking at radio issues. Does this occur when flying in the same general area? If so, it sounds like you're getting some kind of interference. Try to bring a scanner radio or frequency counter to the field next time to check for other signals hitting the RX. They don't always have to be on the exact same frequency. Cell phones are known to cause this type of lockout. A range check will only account for performance while on the ground. Is the problem occuring at a certain altitude or range? Another thing to try is set up the heli as if you're going to fly it, but leave the main blades off. Then, set the throttle failsafe to about 20% throttle. That way if you get a lockout or loss of signal, you will know the RX is going into failsafe. If it just goes crazy and acts sporadic, your RX may be getting overloaded with interference. Just a few ideas to try.
Added: Also check your TX to make sure it's output is not intermittent. Some radios have had issues with the internal antenna connector/base solder joint cracking. |
