RJX Hobby Hurrican 50 - Xtreme 50 > my cyclic speed is really slow

i am using the stock paddles... with 8 degrees of cyclic... seems like it just flips a little too slow... i would assume the paddles are only so fast... maybe time for stubs or vpaddles??

V paddles 95mm will definetly speed you up, Steven is now running the mixing arm with the 3 holes facing the grip, ball is in the middle hole and the outter hole oin the 2 hole side, we may move that side to the inner hole but the cyclic is pretty quick.

The stock paddles are only so quick. I would definitely look into getting some 90-95mm V-paddles.

I have the head set up with the following:

Mixing arm long side - middle of the 3 holes
Mixing arm short side - inner hole
Flybar carrier - middle hole
Washout arms - outer hole

Using Rotortech 610's and 95mm V-paddles. +/- 12.5 of collective and +/- 8.5 on cyclic. There is no binding anywhere. The cyclics are insanely quick, yet very stable in FFF and hovering.

I haven't installed the 95mm V-paddles yet in this pic:

Set your mixing arms per ez2bgman's pic. this will speed up your cyclics, I have ran this set up from day one on my X50, if that is not fast enough then look at changing your paddles, as Clyde said it will make a bigger differance, but I would try the head setting first, then look at the paddles.

This is the exact setup I am using...Might have to try different paddles.

Patriot, the stock head setup with the 90mm v's and 7.5 degrees cyl is what I am using and it is quick my freind,I know some folks have a different prefrence on this but my X50 is very Happy setup like this.Try the V's with the stock setup at around 7.5 to 8 and start there before reprogramming the head.I think it is more a preference as to what you will be happy with.

I agree with Buzz, the paddles definetly made a difference, then you can move the ball links to your flying style, but the paddles WILL make the cyclic quicker

Anyone out there explain to me what is cyclic degrees?

If you have your head setupwith +12/-12 degrees of pitch..

Go to full positive then move your cyclic control full circle & you will see that the pitch changes..

One blade will have more than 12 degrees pitch while the other will have less.

Hello,

you set the heli to 0º pitch.Than hold the elevetor full down or up and look how much deflecion you have on the blade.Same on the ailerons. This gives you your cyclic degrees.

Ok gotya! but should I do if I want to have my own cyclic setting, and in what degree it will go fast or go slow?

If you want super fast cyclic, try the Super Stubz from Radix.

If you bling it, they will come :D

The only way I know to adjust the amount of cyclic pitch is to reduce the swash mixing in your radio.

I think the combined pitch should be less than 18 degrees, unless your good at collective management..

If you have 8 degrees of cyclic pitch and it is flipping slow turn up the headspeed, simple as that. Lighter paddles will increase responsiveness of cyclic but has no bearing on how much cyclic pitch the blades have, it will only take a little bit longer to get to the max cyclic pitch is all. Take a heli and go from 1800 to 2000rpms on the same setup and it will flip tons faster.

cyclic speed

You might also want to consider a "S" curve in your radio set up on say idleup 2 it will make your heli more sensive around center stick if your fling the stardard 3D setup? -10 0C +10 or somewhere there abouts you will think your getting a faster cyclic this this setup.

I am using the most aggressive head settings plus 3mm flybar and Super Stubs. My cyclic is super fast! Way faster than on my T600.
