I got my first swift 10 months ago . A phazor 600 just landed in my hanger a week ago.And now a new swift in 8s is on the way.Is it just me or is the performance of these eletrics addicting. Yesterday i had 15 flights , 13 of those were on my electrics. I flew one of my ravens twice untill i stripped the maingear. The only way i can get my nitros to even come close to the eletrics is to scream the motor at 2500 headspeed. And we all know you shoulndn't do that. And you still need to use a lot of collective management.Since i've been flying the swift and the phazor I forgot what that was.

For me it's not about the performance of electric vs nitro although with the right setup I do believe that electric can kick nitro's butt! I just like the clean, convenient operation of electric!

However. I did just buy an OFNA Ravager! All my airplanes and helicopters are electric and my other 5 cars are electric but I just couldn't resist getting the nitro Ravager! It is a blast and I can understand guys who say they like the smoke and noise of nitro. For me the switch to electric heli's was out of frustration with things like glow plugs burning out prematurely, the occasional dead engine (although autos are a lot of fun), trouble getting the needle set just right, etc.

I haven't yet gotten into the bigger e-heli's yet, but I have to agree that electric is nice. I'm still getting used to just bringing my radio and batt's to the field, I'm always thinking I forgot something

Yeah I know what you mean.Don't have to bring the flight box and fuel. It's nice for stopping at the airfeild on your way home from work and getting in a couple quick flights without havind to drag out the feild box and fueling up and getting it started and then warming up the engine , probably haveing to readjust the carb atleast once.all before you can fly your nitro. With the eletric you just turn on your radio plug in your battery and fly.Kinda makes me wonder why i started with nitro's.

I fly both large EP and nitro. After flying EP for a while I really notice the relative poor performance of nitro. It use to be the other way around but now ways nitro definitely has some catching up to do when it comes to power.

Nitro has the edge on duration but falls short when it comes to 3D power and headspeed.

Yeah I love the fact that if I only have a few hours to fly I can just go to the field with my models and a few charged packs and not have to waste any time fueling, adjusting, etc.

I think I'm going to get alot more flying in this year just because of the quick convenence of the eletric's.I plan to fly almost every evening after work that the weather pemits. In the past years flying nitro's, with all the hassle of fueling adjusting starting and what not,I just never seamed to fly as much as i planned. I guess this year will tell the tale, If convenence is the ticket to more flying time.
