I did a lookup on Mike's phone number, and attempted to contact him (4/4/08 @ 9:45 AM). I spoke to his wife, Shelly, who seemed very nice. She explained that they are going through some difficult times right now (ill child), and she was going to contact Mike right now to have him ship it our or provide the tracking number. She was very apologetic for the matter in how this has been handled, and said she would take care of it.

I left her my phone number in the event Mike cannot post online (no/troubled internet connection at the moment); so he can call me with that information and I will post it here for you montarok.

Good luck.

Mike

Shelly called me back and said that she had spoke to Mike.

Mike indicated that he has two packages of items to be sent out, and one was sent a few days ago (Shelly thought he sent it originally, but it came back, etc; but never-the-less she indicated it was a few days ago it went). He still has one more package to send, and he indicated it would go by Fed-Ex.

Once he gets home from work tonight, he would email me the tracking number from the package he recently sent.

Montarok,

I don't know what to tell you. I am just trying to help you out. I have no interest or relationship with anyone in this matter. I never received an email and tracking number from Mike.

I called Shelly this morning (about 20 minutes) ago, and she thought he took care of it late last night. She called Mike and verbally got the tracking number from him. She gave that to me, but it wasn't a valid tracking number.

She is currently calling Mike back, and/or Kinko's where he mailed it and will ring me back once she has a valid tracking number.

Wow, all that hassle and tracking down just to get a tracking number for a package? What a a$$ hat. If you don't have the time to complete the sale by shipping the items advertised, then don't try to sell them. Reminds me of another tool on here moorecj98, I got a good helping of his excuses and lies of when the package actually shipped and then it was a pos when I got it, many others have had the same response on other stuff he sold here.

Hey guys, I just spoke to Mike Rapka. It turns out that this guy IS really trying to play me. A lady picked up the phone and I asked to speak to Mike. He came on the line and asked "who is this?" I said, "this is the guy you're trying to rip-off". He said he wasn't trying to rip me off, then asked me if I wanted him to ship the package or send me my money back? I obviously asked for a refund in Postal Money Order, because I don't trust that I'll get what I paid for. He has promised to put a POSTAL MONEY ORDER in the mail on Monday. I gave him a Thursday deadline to get my money back, I also explained to him that it wasn't worth having a criminal record over this.

Red-Rx7, I thank you very very much for your effort. This guy and his wife are scumbags. This tracking number is bogus, because he hasn't shipped jack. I have gone to the local post office to find out the procedure of going after these scumbags, and I've been told what to do when I'm ready. Also, a couple of my buddies in law-enforcement have contacted me to find out what I want to do. I've told Mike Rapka to make sure I get my money by Thursday. Thanks again for your effort.

His wife said he had two packages to send.

I am not sure what you guys worked out, but according to FedEx there is a package coming from his city to Brooklyn, NY; which is legit.

You can always call FedEx and ask them to confirm the address on that tracking # (since it is valid) and find out the recipient address; to see if it is your or not.

Also, his wife did say he sent out the package initially and it came back. Who knows if this is the truth or not, but she did say that he resent it out a few days earlier, and was able to back that up with a valid tracking #.

The information they are providing does line up; so the PM messages doesn't prove he is a scammer. Now, if all the stuff they said is the true or not; I have no idea.

Either way, I would call and find out from FedEx where that package is heading too. That would be your ultimate catch. Furthermore, if he did agree to refund you the money, he should call FedEx and have them redirect that package back to his house. Else, why lose product and money?

Let us know what you find.

Well, when I spoke to him earlier, he made no mention of a first package sent. All he asked me was if I still wanted him to ship the package or send me my money back.

The point is, I will refuse any package that shows up at my door. I don't trust this dude one bit.

This is a clear attempt to scam. The deal was to ship USPS priority mail, which he agreed to. Why does he keep talking about FedEx? Why did he completely cease to communicate with me? I know him and his wife were shocked when they got that call from me.

Like I told him, this is not worth going to jail or having a criminal record for.

Well, good luck. While a logical person would agree with you, a scammer isn't very logical to begin with in the first place. Just be prepared in the event that you don't get your money back.

Trust me, if by Thursday I don't get my money back, I'll go to the next step. I'm only trying to give him a chance to redeem himself. I know he really won't like the postal inspectors knocking on his door.

BTW, why hasn't he tried to defend himself? He logged on only to close his threads, but didn't respond to my PM or try to defend himself, hmmmm....

FedEx or UPS instead of USPS

This person is very smart he avoid to use USPS because it is a Federal agency. He will have more problems if he use the USPS for a scamm.
