Great

Just put an order in on heliworld. Can't wait to start the biuld. Will be my first kit wich i am happy about. I hate tearing down ARF's just to make sure they are biuld properly.

A few more questions

I herd that the torque tubes put less load on the engine. Is this true. I wonder if that is why i didn't feel much of a difference in power between my os37 hawk and my .50 stinger. I was really disapointed by the pullout the stinger had. Really bogged down when i jammed the stick and it had horrible, HORRIBLE, inverted climbouts.

How many degrees of pitch can be run on this bird. The Gohbee seemed to bog past 10. (i still think the stinger design is just not that good or the gearing is crappy, not sure)

It comes with TR blades correct?

What weight are you guys seeing?

Cambo,, you power problem can be coming from your throttle linkage setup, or from unwanted drag somewhere on the heli, if setup right the Raven should climb-out as fast as any 50 size heli,,

I would first look at your throttle linkage setup,,, checkout the link,, hope I have helped

yep, I spent alot of time getting the throttle set up right. Even set it up and baught a high speed servo so it would move much faster and ahead of the pitch. No matter, can't wait to setup the new Raven.

JR 810
* Torque:34 oz/in @ 4.8V
* Speed:.10 sec/60° @ 4.8V
* Dimensions (WxLxH):.75" x 1.54" x 1.36"
* Weight:1.68 oz
* Bearing:n/a
* Motor Type:n/a
* Gears:Nylon

The barrell on the hyper was smooth as silk so no binding.

BTW, this isn't on the Raven. This was on my Gohbee Stinger .50 wich I sold and baught a Raven (hope it comes by next weekend). I am expecting the Raven to be a winner.

""Gohbee Stinger"",,, yee, I got that,,

but for sure you need a diff servo,, 34oz of torque is just not enough !!!

get a new servo and you will see, get something around 60oz at 4.8V or even 80 and you will see !!! promos !!!

in-fact, I wouldn't even fly it again with that servo on the pitch, that's a rudder servo, if it failed you wouldn't want that !!

CAMBO the stock blades should be fine for your type of flying.
You won't be disapointed with your new raven.I have three and they perform just as good as my to knights. It's mostley in the set up and the electronics .The taller gear ratio of the stinger was probabley the cause of your bogging. the stock raven ratio is 9.1 /1 and mine pull 11.5 in fast forward flight and 14/14 in 3D mode provideing you can practice collective management.I run a throttle curve of 100 100 60 100 100 for idle one and 100 100 70 100 100 for 3D this way you can unload the disk and still stay in the throttle to recover from a bog faster. A govener would do the same thing.

""9252""

Ok that's a great servo,,

maybe you better ask on the Gohbee page, maybe a Gohbee Rep will help you..

Ya, i gave up on the thing. Just wasn't as nice of a machine as my hawk pro and i am assuming the Raven is even better than the hawk so i am really excited.

On the raven I will be running

ar7000
futaba heavy duty on/off swith
3 x futaba s3050 digitals 72oz a piece
futaba gy 401 with s9254
jr 810 on the throttle
subc 1900 mah sayno cells curticy NOBS batteries
hyper 50

Raven suposed to show on wensday. YA.

Can u guys give me some throttle curve shoutouts both in normal and idle up. A little curious what throttle settings you guys are running with the higher gear ratio than i am used to. Just want to get in the ball park.

keep pitch curves linear and adjust only the throttle curves.
try starting at 100 65 45 65 100 adjust points 2 & 4

Cambo I run throttle 0 25 50 75 100 in normal. 100 80 60 80 100 in idle up one and 100 100 70 100 100 in idle up 2 . I use idle one for fast forward flight and idle 2 for 3D the narrow curve in idle 2 helps the head to recover from bogs faster. Or you could just put a govener on it . But that would be to easy.
I prefere to keep my birds as simple as possible less stuff to give problems that way.Pitch cuves i run -5 0 5.5 11 in norm -11 +11 in idle 1 -14+14 in idle 2 or as i call it 3D mode.

running 100% throttle around 3/4 stick in idle 2 doesn't over speed the head? Seems like you are running pretty high throttle curves. Although the gearing on the raven is different than my stinger.

BTW, the raven came in yeasterday and i started the biuld. I am really happy with it so far. Much better quality than my stinger. Instructions are not the best so it took me a little while to get the head set correctly. I was happy to see that it came with a nice machined washout guide. COOL

Century I think your confused he is running a 50 nitro not an electric 450.

normal 0 25 50 75 100 ok
idle1 100 65 45 65 100 ok and I run with 25% expo aile and elev
idle2 100 70 48 70 100 ok and no expo

buy a skytach and have a friend help with tach, idle1 should be around 1800 and idle2 should be around 1950 - 2050 max head speed

adjust points 2&4 till the head stops overspeeding on descent

I only use the idle 2 for 3D and i use a lot of pitch 14/14 and of course colective managment. This curve helps the headspeed recover faster after a bog.
Like i said a govener witha fast servo would acomplish the same thing.
I just like to keep my birds simple, less to go wrong.
Also I've become spoiled with the power of my eletrics and the only way to come close to theme with a 50 nitro is to push them hard. And as i said before lots of collective manegment.
And to blademaster I run a flat curve in govener mode on my eletrics.Usually between 60 and 80% depending on witch mode i'm in.
The gearing is a lot lower on the raven 9.1 to 1 verses 8.5 to 1 on your stinger.Also an MP5 pipe on a 50 helps to keep overrev undercontrol.
