| If you're trying to use a "V" curve for the throttle, setting the endpoint correctly to get full throttle only when the stick reaches the end of it's travel will avoid having the tops of the V flattened out. That shows up in the air as a drop in rotor speed at the extremes of collective (and depending on your gyro, maybe a slight drift at the tail). But plenty of people fly with a straight line throttle curve (100% all the way across)- for them fine tuning the endpoints will make precisely zero difference!
Changes at the low end of the throttle affect the arming of the ESC, but make very little difference in flight. (Although you may need to reset your throttle hold setting if you practice autos with a little bit of power which helps some ESCs spool up faster to abort the auto-rotation).
