Ladies and gentlemen, nice to meet you.
It made it to the use of MINI-FLASH Controller of DIYRC by my AIRWOLF. It is a very good commodity.

It is animation of the test.

sin heli, THAT WaS GREAT !!!

Good idea about the lights in the guns and exhaust. The only thing missing would be the sound module and speaker for the turbine sound as you fly and this thing would be complete.

Man you give me ideas, I'd have to order more mini-flashes

BTW, how many channels is your receiver ?

What configuration do you have on the setup of the switches on the TX and how many sets of lights do you have with how many mini-flashes ?

Thank you for the Elgreco comment.

Because I am translating into Japanese with the personal computer, a tidy reply might be
not made. I'm sorry.

My receiver is Futaba R5114DPS.
The lighting setup of LED synchronizes with the flight condition and lights.
As for the gun, it is scheduled to do with the lever on the transmitter side.

The number of LED uses 13 two mini-flashes.

The following addresses are my blogs, and animation (Though it is small) in this includes
the machine gun and the animation of the sound.

Busyflyin,
Wow... you made it in the nick of time (I had hoped you wanted to try one).

So... it looks like these are the "winners" of the 4 beta "Mini-Beacons":

Elgreco, Tauscnc, Elgreco and Gadgetdude (1 each).

I should have them done (built/tested) later tonight.

For you guys that only want the beacon, please Paypal me $15 to "tomsha" at cox.net and I should be able to get it out in the mail first thing tomorrow morning (include $5 more if you want shipped USPS Priority, otherwise I'll ship free via 1st Class). For those looking to purchase other things too (delivered in same package), please email/PM me your list (incl Paypal ID) and I'll send you a Paypal request for the total (include your preferred shipping method too).

p.s Elgreco... I know you sent me a list yesterday but I seemed to have lost it... please email your list again if you can.

Thanks again guys! Can't wait to see how you like the new Mini-Beacon!

Sin Heli,
Thanks for the kind comments and glad to see you like the Mini-Flash controller(s). Great ideas you have... looks like a very nice setup you have there. Thanks for sharing... and welcome to RunRyder (as if I should be welcoming him... I'm a newbie too!)

Well... I put the mini-flash to use this afternoon.

I have installed the navigational lights and the tail strobe so far and I am waiting for my 2 red beacon lights from Tom

I will re-adjust the rate of the tail a bit faster. I had it like that because initially I wanted to slow down my red strobes more for a more realistic effect but Tom came up with the beacon circuit just in time.

Here's a quick vid, nothing special, but wanted to say that this system is very nice and easy. Good for many applications.

Can't wait to add those strobes on...

Looking good!

I would assume you are going to put the beacon on top? What about the light under the tail boom?

Great job Elgreco! You guys are slowly going to get me back into Helis... that's for sure.

Busyflyin, Tauscnc and Gadgetdude....
Just wanted to let you know your packages were sent today. I can't wait to see what you guys think.

Elgreco, your order will go out hopefully Monday or Tuesday the latest (I need to build one more Beacon flasher for you... hopefully etch more boards tomorrow if time is on my side)

One thing though I need to do SOON is put together a mini webpage or something that describes the functionality of the "Mini-Beacon". I took a bunch of pictures of the Beacon drivers after building them and will include them in this description/webpage. I'll post it here in a day or two (hopefully before any of you get them in the mail).

Thanks again all..

Boy... you know you've been up way too late when you start hearing the birds chirping outside....

Folks... I had to start an operators/users manual for the Mini-Beacon, especially for you 4 who should be testing one soon!. Here's a start of something... brain a little fried...

http://www.diyrc.com/picaxe-minibeacon.htm

Post any questions... I might be busy the next day or so but I'll try to check in when I can.

Gadjetdude...
Yes, I am going to put the two remaining lights, but I am waiting for Tom's new beacon lights as these are the ones that should go there.

The top, I have to move it a bit back after I cut the fuse a bit to fit the anti-rotation bracket of the Trex. It's too forward right now. I am waiting for the mechanics to be put in and then it's the last light that will go in.

I wish I could put a landing light but I can't seem to find a proper place to put it in order to look scale. I think I'll leave it without instead of ruining the look. Oh well...

I fixed my retracts meanwhile. Now if Tom hurried up and get me those lights....

sinheli;
That is freakin' cool! I had this idea a while back to build an Airwolf and buy one of the audio playback modules from RAM and have them program the theme song onto it. You could play it back when the heli is setting static! Yours makes me want to do one up, but just finishing my 500D.

Awesome!

Thank you for the comment.
The idea where the theme song flows is interesting.
When the turbine sound is rather made to flow, too it seems to be
interesting.
For mine, it is a problem that the speaker is small.

Hey folks,
Just curious if any one received their Mini-Beacon yet?

By the way, I made some much needed edits to the write-up on the Mini-Beacon (boy I must had been 1/2 in the bag when I wrote the draft!). It is here:
