| No gasket...Enya engines of the last ten or twenty years are made without any form of gap seal material between the sleeve and head. Notice how thin the contact area is at the sleeve-head interface. The flexibility alone of the aluminum gives the seal.
What this means is the tightening technique of the head bolts is very important. Make sure the head is pushed down by hand firmly first and then do the "cross tightening" pattern in a very slow and even manner. Some times it's worth 'lapping-in' the sleeve to the head to be sure the head isn't warped, preventing a gas-tight fit.
