| I got my heli at the end of January, thats the dead of winter in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Because I couldn't go out and fly it, I spent a lot of time going to the hobby shop and buying lots of upgrades and stuff and basicly fiddled with my machine while I learned more about it. I think we all feel the need to make our heli's unique to each of us.
Now, i got eager to go out one day, strapped on the training gear and went to a snow covered field and proceeded to hover my new chopper with a carbon fin set and carbon main blades. Well, to make a short story out of a short story, I started to drift (I'm a beginner) brought the heli down slowly and watched as one ball of the training gear sunk through the snow and the heli did a lazy tip causing the main blades to cut through the snow and hit the ground. Scratch one set of carbon blades (I Admit to full stupidity) When I got home and discovered this was the only damage, I immediatly took off the carbon fin set and brought the machine back to stock. Once bitten, twice shy I guess.
I want my heli to stand out and look good, I want to take pride in my attention to detail when building and maintaining my model. I have no delusion that some day will come when I won't crash anymore but I should at least wait until I control more of the circumstances that can reduce the chances of a crash. Then I can put my custom parts on and make a much larger statement with each crash.
Good day all,
-eSmith.
