ive also been using the Castle BEC in the EX and the Medusa Research in the SP with no problems. Just wondering if the Castle or the Medusa was designed to handle 4 full size digital servos.

Peak: 10 amps
Continuous:
<12 volts input = 7 amps*
<24 volts input = 5 amps**Ratings are determined with a 5mph airflow on the BEC. Servo connectors are not rated for current in excess of 5 amps. Users are encouraged to replace the connectors if more than 5 amp currents are anticipated.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
5 amps Continuous should be able to handle 4 full size servos and the gyro , no problem .

It looks like there is less room between the gear and the battery rails , the way my EX is now I have just enough room for my 2 x 3s1p 3300mah 25C`s in series... I hope we have room in the frames for some big batteries... I like my 2 x 3s1p 3300mah 25C Poly-Quests , they are the best batteries that I have found for my EX.

If you look at what Charley (Rotoworkz) is doing with his Outrage G5, hes using a 1300 Mah 6s in a trex sized heli swinging 350s. then maybe a 2 1800mah 4s Which are dimensionally more compact than most standard 3s would fit the bill. Im going to convert my EX to fly my old 4s in series this week just as an experiment to give me an idea of what to expect, I just have to change out my Castle BEC to the Medusa to handle the voltage.

for the first time ever I had to replace the main gear on one of my Quicks after it slammed into the ground and deformed a tooth. I ordered a replacement and was quite surprised at the changes. I like the original version beter...

Does it help make the gear more true without the holes? How much more does it weigh?

it of course weighs more, theres no increase in strength or rigidity, its obviously easier and cheaper to produce (since the price of gas has effected prices of everything in the world) and it looks less intersting. probably weighs 25% more Yes Jimbo, the Holy one is so much nicer.

I havent seen one, I cant afford one at this time, but if i decide to go that route I think Ill just buy the parts and peice one together with my EX. The main shaft is 2300 yen or about $23!

just found some more info on the EP9. The dual main gear assembly and shaft are borrowed from EP18EX that swings 550s the maximum HS for the EP18 is 2200rpm. im wondering if the EP9 swining 440s (maximum) anywhere between 2200 and 2400 should be adequate? This heli with 440s wouldnt need high HS to perform anyway.
