I was at the Las Vegas Funfly and personally had an interesting talk with Matt Botos. During the talk, I and Matt mentioned a lot about the N9 SE and he told me that all the SE parts were finished 2 months ago and he insisted that there was no reason to prevent the SE parts from releasing. So we should expect to see them real soon.

On Matt's heli, I saw there were the new tail hub, the new fan hub and the new torque tub system which he mentioned that it was like trex 600 torque tube.

Too bad that I forgot to take some pictures of the SE parts.

Anyways, stay tuned guys!

Thank the Lord they got rid of the torque tube system. I am sorry, but if Jason and Todd set out to MAKE a system that had as MUCH runout as possible they could not have improved on what they came up with.

Right now the Hyperhub and HyperDrive are absolute neccesities. the rest is arguable.

I can't wait for the new tail parts so I don't have to worry about my tail blades flying off in flight! I'm not going to fly the N9 until the snow goes away but the tail issue freaks me out. I don't want to crash because of a failure of parts.

If the wings are travelling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter

I have over 300 flights between two Synergys and no problems at all with the tail.

To hover is divine, the alternative is rather PLANE.

Parts or New Heli?

Will the SE be a set of upgrade parts for the current N9, or an entirely new heli? Or both?

So it's not a new heli?

It will be not a new heli. An N9 SE will be a normal N9 with upgrade/improving parts:

- Aluminum Blade grips
- Aluminum Clamp-type fan hub (no dial indicate needed)
- Aluminum tail grips
- Aluminum anti rotation bracket
- Aluminum engine mount + center block --> this new design will eliminate all vibration from the engine to the fuel tank.
- New steel tail hub supporting dual radical bearing grips
- New torque tube system (I guess)
- New canopy thumb screws

So an N9SE will fly better but be more expensive.

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Basically, he was using all the SE parts except for the metal tail grips. He flies a flybarless system so his blade grips have different arms from the SE.

He flies a few of them, seems as if he flys the flybar one most often...that is if hes not rockin the flybarless logo

I've also heard the c clips and pins are being replaced with a new design. Did Matt have them installed?

We didn't talk about that new designed c-clips so I'm not sure if he had them installed or no. But they are sure another great upgrade. I didn't know this before.

Strange that the 'New Aluminium engine mount' is quoted to help reduce engine vibrations ... while the original plastic ones were supposed to have been choosen/design exactly for that

Actually the new aluminum center block is the one that eliminates the vibration. It transfers low frequency vibration from the engine to higher frequency vibration which eliminates fuel foaming problem.

It is like Long says. to get rid of the vibes you need the new metal engine mount and the new metal block. Then with a properly tuned engine and a dialed in machine the tank should be Lake Placid.
