| Well, I have finally come up with some time to pop a little post on my latest project.... with the help of MichaelC, here on RR.... Mike did the calculating and motor mount layout so that we could convert the .18 sized Pegasus to an electric.... We ended up using an AXI 2826-08 with a 14t pinion and running on A123 packs (2-6 cell packs) with an Align 75 amp esc... I will be also trying the Jeti 70 opto once I get it in to see how that works... so still experimenting a little... It is actually a very simple mode to make and it really brings this heli to life!!!! (not that it is bad on the nitro...) but just a more consistent power, and seems to actually have more power... It runs the head at 1850 for 11 minutes in the scale body that I am using, but we will be running another in P&B very soon to see how that works out too....as it sits right now, my scale Scout weighs in at 7 pounds when ready to go.. and once painted and fully ready maybe another 1/2 pound....and it is an awesome flying machine... I took it to CT for the St Patrick's Day all night indoor fly in and it was nothing short of a thing of beauty (even though it is one BUTT UGLY heli!!!! ) Smooth and stable and flew perfectly the entire evening.... We have made up the mounts and will have links to were to purchase the other parts needed, but the heli can be seen and purchased at www.pegasusheliusa.com There are a lot of things still to be tested this season, but there is a lot of good stuff that will, if it isn't already, available soon.... Here are a couple of shots.... I am traveling so the pictures are limited.. and there is still some cleaning up and final wiring to do once it is in paint... I will post some complete pic's too.... Feel free to contact me with any questions.... Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!! |
