I made the modification on my Hummingbird.
Just took me @ 20min. to complete it.
You'll need a collar w/ a 1/8 " ID.
The swash plate was designed without the spherical pivot normally found in swashplate assy. Instead it was simplified by just using a sharp
edge " >II<" jammed against a soft tube to maintain it's center.
When I removed the small plastic tube, the swashplate has a noticeable
play resulting from the thickness of the removed tube, and the swashplate has nothing to hold it in place "vertically" except the 2-servo links and the 2-flybar links.
Performance..
1. I noticed a big improvement on the swashplate movement after
doing the mod.
2. The Elevator/ Aileron response is quicker than before during
hovering.
3. The play on the swashplate seems to have no bad effects
on the control, although long term effects still to be determined.
4. I did no adjustments on the servo travel, I liked the way max.
travel resulting from the mod.
5. I still have to test the forward flight performance.
Note..
Keep the "Black Tube" that you removed in case you want to
bring it back to it's original condition.

I missed last Thursday's Indoor Flying..
If the guys are still going there, I will be there next Thursday.

Today, I went out to the park to test the Hummingbird Mod on forward flight, but it's drizling and the ground was wet at the same time,
the wind was a little bit fast for the bird. I will try again when the weather gets better.

See ya at the Air Museum.
