!!!!!JOKER2 FLYBAR FOR SALE IN THE CLASSIFIED SECTION!!!!!

Damn it Rosauro you know what I am like when I see bling like that. Especially when so well photographed and presented.

Just made the purchase

I am going to try out the Gyrobot on it so I will have the highest 3d capability with hovering stability for AP at the flick of a switch. Kind of like a cross between vstabi and HC rigid in one unit.. time will tell. Might have to wait a while for the gyrobot though but should be worthwhile

We will probably offer the Gyrobot when the tests with the Joker are finished (if successfull of course) and the (currently not finished) "smooth" or "beginner" mode is implemented in the software.
These tests with the Joker need 1-2 months from our side.

LOL... Told ya Gerd...

First thing I noticed during transport was not worrying about the flybar... I usually get something hooked on it or bumped.

WOW,
I just looked at the lf-technik website, and that system looks really cool. A little pricier, than v-stabi(I think)but it seems amazingly small for all the electronics they crammed in there.
Fergus, congrats on the switch.

Didn't Timo used to fly for Mikado?
The only thing that worries me about a 3 axis system is the tail part. Todays gyros (solid G/gy611) hold so well and have such a great piro consistency its hard for me to imagine a tiny system like that can do as good a job. However Timo's looked pretty solid.

Looks good to me too. The spartan is a great tail gyro and is very small so this gyrobot may perform very well also. The entire package looks impressive.

The issue of good tail gyros in 3 axis systems was what made me stay clear of the helicommand and look for an alternative to begin with.

What would be the downside of leaving your Futaba (or whatever) gyro on the tail and using your Gyrobot for pitch and roll? That's what I do with the Carvec.

Thats a good question Steve. I don't know if the 3 gyros 'communicate' as it were. I know the gyrobot has some advanced features which may incorporate the tail gyro but maybe not. After watching those vids I see know reason not to use the tail gyro in the gyrobot though.

There are two axis systems just coming to market for half the price which could be used but neither seem to have the 'horizontal hold' feature which I was after.

My trusty 601 will find a new home in another model no doubt.

So I just added a Joker to the quiver, and I like the idea and simplicity of flybarless systems. But some say it makes the cyclic more responsive............so, this seems like it would potentially be detrimental to smooth flight in aerial video scenarios. Or am I missing something? Just add more expo?

With flybarless you have full control of the travels. You need less travel due to the responsiveness. With the HC you can fine tune it just like expo on the TX.

Has there been a consensus developed for what is the best system for flybarless? Reliability is my primary requirement followed by the power reduction.

I'm looking at ordering one next week so it has to be a system that is on the market. It is for a "corporate" Maxi Joker so cost is not that important.

Perhaps I'm thinking too much, but after seeing noobs photo of his head and looking at all that empty space,(no offense noobs ) there's got to be a way of fitting some of those small "button" type watch batteries and an LED light inside there! Seal them in a tube with a centrifugal switch...bling bling bling

You little... LOL

If I ever do some night flying with the MJ2 I'll probably have night main blades. If there is a 120mm size night tail blades then I'll get that too.

I'll also try to have navigation lights extended out on both sides with some sort of light weight rods. I just have to find lights bright enough that could be seen from a distance and still be able to tell color.

I haven't gotten around to trying out those neon lights I bought.
The ones I got were 6 inches long, but I know from their website they make 3 inch long ones in red and green.
