Finally, after a much anticipated wait, I finally got my killer new Beam E4 450 size heli.

This is one sweeeeeeeeeeeet heli. The frame and head are just superb in quality. This definetily is not an el cheopo heli.

Here's a quick non-sponsered, non-paid, non-bias review of whats in the box.

This is in two parts.

Enjoy!!!!

Thankx Bob.

No build vidz for me.. Thats alot of work.

Plus right now my main super computer is not working, so each video takes like 5 hours to convert using my very old backup computer, since my video camera is High Def quality.

The three screws that attach the balls to the swashplate are really short. They only have about three threads engagement and could be about three threads longer to provide full engagement. The four that are used to attach balls to the same plate are also on the short side, barely protruding from the balls.

Hey Bolts, the screws on mine seemed very secure for the swash.

Anybody know how to hold this in place? Do I put CA on it, or is it suppose to be loose, flopping around in flight? The manual doesn't say what to do.

hey Victor, i have the -6 v2 and i havn't noticed any difference in temps... the motor never warmed up with out the fan so i don't see a purpose for it. and my battery temps are still the same
all i can see that the fan does is add weight...

oh and by looking at the tail drive, it looks like the dragonus's. which means it's more efficent with the tail and will do better autos

Hmm, when I had the old Scorpion 6 motor, it killed the batteries, and measured temps at 145 degree's. Then again, I was also using it on the Mini-Titan which was a beast and weighed like two Beam E4's.

Peter and Hovig came by tonight to check out the Beam. Peter thinks the Beam will auto really good.

I glued mine using a drop of medium CA. never had any problem and the tubes does not vibrate at all

Thanks frebou.

Only thing I'm worried about is that if I CA them and get a bad crash one day, and break the carbon rods, I'd have to drill them out to get them out of that brace.

A little heat and they'll come unstuck, you won't have to drill.

I've sure been enjoying my new E4. I had the thing built and flying in less than 24 hours. Maidened it on 03/18. Using the 7703D gyro and DS3400 servo and the tail functions really nice. I did the chinese weight mod to the tail grips and that made a night and day difference. Piro maneuvers, especially piro loops are nearly as consistent as my 50 size nitro.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Thanks for the advice kingair.

Its good to hear how killer yours is flying.

Using the Hitec gyro, I have to set it up on rate mode, and it seem to not want to stay totally steady. After inspecting the tail servo boom rod, it has nothing to keep it aligned perfectly, and seems a bit loose going along the boom. After looking for more parts, there is no supports for the tail servo boom rod. This is not good for the Hitec gyro, because everything need to be solid.

Looks like I'm gonna have to find some holder to keep it steady along the whole tail boom. I'm suprised Beam didn't supply this.

looking good

and the tail on that thing is pretty much just like the dragonus... it looks a little different but same design.. same with the tail drive.
it's a good looking heli..

and for the tail rod, to stiffen it up, just get a carbon tube that will slip over it then epoxy it in place.. that way it's very rigid and you don't need any supports.

oh, and would you happen to know the boom diameter?

Don't know the boom diameter. Looks the same as the Trex 450's I think.
