WOW g_dimitry you are definately argumentative. If the guy wants to fly and he feels confortable, then all the best to him. Just because a person has a handicap doesn't mean they should find a hole and jump in it. Not everyone does major 3D so I am sure he is smart enough to start out slow, and then when he is comfortable go to the next level.

Cheers

Prejudice is a sad failing of humans. Karma has a way of evening things out fortunately...

This exception only proofs the rule The difference is that he is sitting in the car. It is not very far from him

Ask your self, do you really want to fly at the field with the guy who have one eye (with questionable depth perception)? I don't

As for your stupid remark about the car being close to him, doesn't it occur to you that driving a race car fast requires accurate judgement of distances to the next braking point etc etc?? These by definition will not be close to him..

I would feel much safer being near a pilot who was aware of his disability than a person whose mind is distracted by the clutter of irrational prejudice. Do you require your fellow club members to undergo a medical before you trust them? What if one of them has heart problems, hiccups, sneeze, trips over, etc etc. Sheesh.

P.S. What means "Sheesh"?

Blik, I wish to that guy only good, but don't want to fly with him at the same field. That it. It is my personal opinion, and I am not forcing you to agree with me.
P.S. And keep your "WOW" for ercha guys.

Ok but just tell me why you realy needed to say it since you will never meet him! It suposed to be a thread for giving good words for this guy, Albert. Your comentary hurts and when you lost an eye... you don't need such.

If you ever read this Albert : I'll fly with you!

Ray, sorry to hear about your fellow fliers injuries wish him well for me and I wish I was still there to fly with you all.. Man those were some good days with some great people. I know the club will be supportive of him getting back into the hobby and flying just fine..

Such a quick judge of character and capability! It is amazing that someone like you can even pretend to know what the hell you are talking about for this particular scenario. By all means I think you would have to be experienced in loss of depth perception, have the drive to better yourself or prove you can do something, and actually do it! Dont like people with disabilities much do you?

My left eye's vision is basically worthless past 8-10ft. Pretty much, no depth perception at all, and I have had this stigmatism since I can remember, I am required to wear corrective lenses to drive no matter what, or supposed to anyway. I have been flying RC planes for over 30 years and have flown RC helis for the last 3 years. I do alright for myself and hold my own in 3D capability and night flight. I am positive that Albert will have no trouble at all adjusting to his new condition. BTW I dont wear my glasses to fly helis or airplanes, only while driving at night. Even then, I usually have someone to help me judge distance for turns or passing at night only.

You should excercise you brain more, you will be amazed at what it and a little willpower can overcome. Guess you better not tell Peter Whales he is not safe to fly because he is in wheelchair. The cool part is someone is always willing to work with the disabled and give them a helping hand in our sport

There is also a guy in our last flying field in California, couldnt stand still for a second, his hands were always in fits, jutting and jabbing away.. That is until you put a transmitter in his hand! If you were his guardian we would have never known he could have a couple of moments peace because he would have been a threat to have flying due to his handicapped condition.

I could go on, there are 1000's of handicapped pilots, those who fly one handed etc.. The true shame is when someone willingly handicaps their mind.

Good Nite in the morning...........

If Lance Armstrong can win the Tour De France with ONE Nut.....

This guy can hover his heli with ONE eye. If you don't feel comfortable....leave the area.

I have 2 eyes but no depth perception....and that has never been a factor with model airplanes or heli's.....You find a way to adjust and things work out.

Good luck with a speedy recovery!!!!

Quick...here comes my wife....hide that new Heli !!!!

Do I want to fly with a One-Eyed Pilot?

Sure, if he is a good pilot.

I know quite a few with BOTH eyes that make me run for cover!!!

I bet he will be more cautious, more conciencious, more deliberate, more keenly in tune with his heli, and more safety concious than a whole host of flyers I have witnessed over the years!!!

No problem, heck, I know some blind snowmobilers!!! All kidding aside, I am sure a determined person , (and by these personal accounts of him ,he is), will overcome and become better than before.

Nothing contrubutes more to greatness than adversity.

I am sorry to hear about this

Though on a slightly positive note that is the field I learned to fly at. Back when I was 12 years old I would ride my bike from the Finnegayan housing area just to watch.

Sorry, but your single smiley won't excuse your small-minded prejudice, which you show no signs of retracting

Reminds me of an old saying "It is sometimes better for others to suspect you are an idiot rather than confirm it to them by opening your mouth."

I wish Albert the best for a fast recovery. I think that he shows what a modeler is. He isn't going to let the incident force him out of the hobby. He will learn from it and move on. It would not bother me to fly at the same field with him. Chuck

Hope Albert recovers soon and keep his helis and spirit high.

As far as flying with one eye; my cousin lost an eye when he was young due to an accident.

What the "new heliman liberal troll" is saying is BS. My cousin plays all sports (match tennis is his favorite) and his brain has learned to make up for the loss of depth perception.

My family thought the same as "new heliman liberal troll" in regards to my cousin...but luckily this is not the case.

Hope Albert has a quick recovery...everyone takes note of this thread and FLY ON!!!

When people not smart enough to say something useful they always try to disgrace others by personal attacks. These people are weak and uncultured.

This topic is discussing safety at the field. I wrote my opinion that I will not fill safe to fly with such guy (It does not mean that you can not fly with him). I am not telling that he is bad, and I wish him only good. I am sorry if I hurt this guy, but this topic about safety not about friendship (Safety - RC Helis are not toys).

This topic is not about safety on the field at all??!! You are the only one who talking about it! Every time your using your keybord there is someone who try to recover the situation!

This topic is about Albert who lost an eye and need good words to recover.

We'll continu PM if you don't mind. I think you did enough here.
