The new version of Lars starter units has just landed in North America. They now require no machining or modifications to the engine other than to remove the pull start system.
The units are supplied with the electronic switch and battery pack for $295 US. The starters are imported in North America by Eastern Helicopters in Canada or check out www.variocanada.com. We will ship the starters in USA from the State of Maine via UPS or USPost.

The production unit has undergone intensive testing; over 1000 flawless starts were executed. This German quality design and machining = performance and reliability.

Hello Dan
I have a Vario dauphin and one of the control arms runs along the inside frame. Since the starter motor fits between the frame, would there be a clearance problem with the linkage? Im running a three servo setup with a four blade head.

Tim,

The starter will fit with the old frames. The pushrods run to the side of the motor.

Rotor head...yes. But same issue trying to find time durring the day to take care of this stuff.


I need a heli assistant. I guess I would have to pay for those services. That would cut into my heli budget. Therefore, I need a winning lottery ticket. i guess I should start playing, huh?

I bought the electric starter from Dan about two mmonths ago. Send him an email and he should reply to you. He can be reached early at night by phone or leave a message and he will return the call. The starter works great.
