| I have in my hand the first metal rapid protoype I ever saw.
I enquired about getting parts made in metal. This part is about the size of a 50 heli engine mount (but complex). They wanted £300 for a rapid proto in metal made from laser sintered bronze.
The rapid proto company hadn't had any direct to metal parts made before so they got my model made as a sample, and then becuase my model had a mistake in it making it relatively useless to me  , they sent me the sample for free.
Finish is like a very good investment casting, but this is direct from the computer rather than an SLA wax that is then cast. |
