Vario Sky Fox - Benzin - Evolution - Xtreme > My Benzin Trainer don't fly.

Hi,

I bought a Benzin Trainer some months ago and i can't fly it.
I'm new in helis and have some hours in my Trex 450.

I see two problems.

1) I set up the multigov to limit the RPM to 1400, but i reach 1800, i tried in Full governor mode and Overspeed with same results.

2) When i start the engine, some servos move rapidly.
The gas servo is one of them, so i decided to re-route the servo cable
and now it moves less, but still moves.
Have the same problem with one of the swash plate servos.

All the swash plate servos are Futaba 3010, all new.
The throttle servo is a Futaba 3004.
The engine, has the suppressed plug cap installed.
I use a JR PCM Receiver.

Any idea to stop this interferences?

Thanks

Sorry no idea about the Multigov but I'm sure somebody will chip in here and help you with that.

The first thing to look at when you get PCM lock-outs is the spark plug. Check you have the right plug for your engine. It has to be a resistance plug. Set the plug gap to 0.02" (.5mm) and check plug has resistance using ohmmeter. My NGK plugs measure 11 - 12Kohms when new. Champions have a higher resistance. They can lose resistance over time. I use NGK plugs only as I do not like the quality issues with Champions although others here seem to do okay with them.

One last thing, make sure your throttle channel is set to go to idle on your TX fail-safe settings. Failure to do this can result in complete loss of control of your heli.

I use the multigov, great unit, just make certain that the connectores remain plugged securely. Is the gear ratio set right on the govorner? I trust you have the 9.09:1 ratio, start by checking that. Maybe you have another ratio.

Also don't let the thing get to 1800, the trainer is not happy at 1800

1800? Ohhhhh is that a NO NO on the Benzin. Like FCM said check your plug, also make sure your radio is in PCM not PPM mode. I would also suggest that you run a suppressed plug cap as well. These things should make sure you don't get anymore glitching problems.

Regarding the gov....Try a getting a good setup with the gov off. Once you get your throttle and pitch curves set and the ship behaves as it should then work on your gov setup.

I experienced the same issue (sudden and random servo jiters) a few years ago, and I crashed the heli because of that. I couldn't get rid of the internal interferences until I bought an optical isolator (Jomar), which isolates the receiver from the rest of the electronics. Since then, I did not have any internal problems.
