| Perhaps I can shed some light here...
The clutch assembly REQUIRES a shim or collar to be inserted onto the motor shaft before seating the clutch bell. The kit includes several different shims, all of which allow the inner races of the bearing to ride on one another, and to allow for raising the bell up to get it off the gear when the motor is mounted.
I have built 2 50's so far.
The first machine required a single .75mm shim and the gear is centered on the clutch pinion.
THe second machine required 2x 0.5mm shims to clear the gear adequately.
With those shims in place, you can tighten the snot out of the clutch and the bell still freewheels nicely.
I need to build a 90 so that I can work on the nose heavy issue.
Some suggestions include: replace the tail control wire with a 5mm carbon pushrod- it's lighter and better Snag some carbon tail boom supports or possibly a carbon boom
Will post more as I become more versed on the subject.
