e-Hirobo SRB Quark - Lepton - XRB Coaxial > Kora 15-16 ->6s 2500

Hei, I'm about to buy a motor for lepton. And I have seen the kora 15-16 but, I want to fly with 6 s 2500 mHa like trex500

I have seen that this motor it's for 5s at maximum but I don't know any other motor like this running on 6s...
Do you thing it will run well with this motor?.

If this doesn't works, It's good motor 5s for 3d on lepton?

Thanks

What axi and what hyperion, and why not the kora

Thanks Fernando

He means, size 3025-10turn for Hyperion, and size 2826/10turn AXi.....

That 15-16 is showing it could handle 6S.

You might need 21T pinion for that Kora........

Yes Tail sorry you are right.

Now, the issue for less than 22t pinions is that they are hard on the main gear.

I use Axi 2826/12 with 19T pinion and 6s2500mAh battery pack - runs hot bot other than this absolutely no problems. Maingear after 30 flights with a lot of 3D looks like new.

I'm running 18T pinion on mine, 2826/8..... I'm crossing my fingers, but, I haven't had my main gear getting stripped lately..... Yesterday, I switched back to 425mm MAH..... One flight no stripped main gear....... I don't know if it's gonna last, and I may need to lower the collective pitch to +/-10* from eleven...... For main gear's safety, besides the 425mm gave me more collective punch than I need with +/-11* pitch range..... Tail still pretty solid with AXi motor and tail mod combinations...... I'll keep you guys posted.....

Oh yeah, backlash gapping on main gear and pinion, don't use the paper in between method. It leaves much more gap then needed...... What I do is I gap it visually....... I leave just a little bit of gap where I could barely see a movement when I move the main gear back and forth...... After one flight, I check again, and it loosens a bit...... I simply leave it that way.......

You might need 18T pinion......

I have to agree with Tail_BoomStrike about setting the backlash, i do the same leaving almost no movement between pinion and gear.

I plan to try 18T pinion in the near future but it seems 19T is working well - over 3000hs and no bogging with 11deg pith and stock Lepton blades.

Finally I have ordered the kora 15-16 with 20T of revco
I plan to put a 6s 2500 mHa pack

I will see if 20t is too much.. and if 6s 2500 is too heavy...

6s 2500 works ok but I feel a little bit too heavy for Lepton. Your 6s 2500 is 390g? I run with 6s 2000mah which is only 320g.

I'm running a Kora 15-14 with a 19T pinion (just installed it yesterday). I was previously using a 22T pinion and running it about 75% throttle curve.

It flies great on 6s. I'm using 3s 2200 packs x 2 and have them staggered (forming like a little s-shaped tetris piece). That fits nicely in the slot (I took out the plastic battery tray). Now my Lepton is running great. I also upgraded my servos to 3155s from 3150s (which were really slow) and upgraded the gyro to a 7703D plus 3400. I had a 401/9254 on the tail but it was very tail heavy. I think my CG is much better now.

how did it go

Heliup,

How did your 6S 2500mah with Kora 15-16 and 20T go?
I found that I have to drop my govn to 70% on Jazz 80 and getting 2950rpm for 5.5 to 6mins flight. If I go 80% givn, I can hear the stress on the main gear and step down immdeiately to save my main gear. So I guess a 19T would be perfect.

Well, at the moment I'm assuming all the components. The weights of the bateries are critical in this heli.

FP 6s 2500 410g
TP 2200 6s 340g (the same as 2 packs 3s in serie)

70g of difference

Maybe by the weight of the 2500 I fly the same time as the 2200, or not, what do you thing?

waiting for MSH protos

heliup

I agreed with you regarding the weight of 6S 2500 compare to 6S 2200.

For me, moving from a much heavier Trex 500 to Lepton, it already save a lot of wieght with the same power systems. My signature is now updated with my Lepton configure and auw.

Hornestly, I am waiting for the protos and this will bring my 6S 2500 closed to 1600g, which I think is a ideal soltuion with a balance power to weight ratio.

I currently fly 6S 2000mah which is only 320g. I also tried 6S 2500mah which was 390g. They fly very different. That 70g less makes Lepton fly much better. 2500mah will not fly much longer than 6s 2000mah because it is heavier.

Broke the main gear before I could lower the pitch range to +/-10°..... With +/-10° pitch range, BTW, with 425mm main, flies better 3D, than +/-11°(which I believe is more appropriate for drag race flying)......
