Should we not be saying that the Vibe looks more like the X50 and not the other way round?????

Depends. The X50 was based on the V50 so since the V3D uses some V50 parts, the X50 has some things similar to the V50. However I wouldn't say they are close. Personally I prefer the Vibe looks and frame layout but hey, thats me. I'm sure there are alot of rjx followers that love the looks of their X50 just as I hate the look of the 600N.

Actually 7 lbs 10 oz is very reasonable. My Trex 600N is lighter than that, and I've read others have put their Trexs on a diet and they are even lighter.

I'm in the middle of a build with my Xtreme 50, so I don't have final weight yet, but here's my Trex 600 Nitro:

Yep - 7 lbs 6 3/4 oz!

I got a helicopter for my girlfriend,
It was a good trade!

The X50 has been out since last July, the Vibe 50 is just now being released to the public, how do you figure that the X50 was based on the Vibe 50, I saw very early prototypes and I have one of the original Xtreme 50 kits, which is now going to be the Pro kit before the tail boom was lowered in the frame and the radio tray lowered and angled, this was long before JR even thought about introducing the V50.

Don't get me wrong the Vibe 50 looks to be a great machine as is it's big brother the vibe 90, My son flew Scott Grey's V50 last month so he has flown both and he agrees it's a nice flying machine, it all comes down to personal preference and product support.

Ok I should stop using production codes...

The extreme 50 is based on the airskipper so since the vibe 50 has some airskipper heritage, its natural that the extreme has some resemblance to the vibe 50.

I personally think JR copied some ideas from the synergy (check the magnets on the clutch)

Your referring to the Hurrican 50 which very much resembles the Air Skipper 50, this was the first heli that RJX released about 3 years ago, the Xtreme 50 looks nothing like the AS50, however the Vibe 50 does resemble the Xtreme 50

I think that most manufacturers grab something from each others design and incorporate it into there models.

they would be stupid if they didn't.

Who cares? As long as each one is happy with what he has

I was going to buy a Vibe50, it was a given. Even to the point of having informed my Supplier to make sure he has one in the shop, 3 weeks after this weekend.
I changed my mind.

Part of it is a local issue with JR. I asked via e-mail for a parts list on the Main store's Website. After 3 weeks, we still have got no parts list with pricing. Knowing the issues that Pilots here in Australia have had for years with getting their hands on spare parts for their Vibe90's, I was starting to cool off towards a JR heli.

So this weekend we had, what should be now the biggest Fun Fly in Australia which is firmly established in Coffs Harbour.

I walked around the pits and noticed this 50. Nice looking heli, all metal parts, looks like a fully adjustable Metal head ala Avant.
Surely all blinked out top of the line range. I talked to the Owner who told me that the only thing that was upgraded, were the tail blade holders to the metal ones with Thrust bearings.

I saw 3 of them crash, and I mean major crashes, as the demo pilots were pushing them to the limit and getting a bit too close to the ground.

The damage was absolutely nothing, compared to the 600n's that were exploding all around us LOL.

The main thing was....Frames completely survived, both G10 and CF.

All electronics survived.
The metal heads just showed the normal flybar..etc damage.

So I ordered one on the spot.

At least over here I get in comparison for the same money as the vibe.

G10 Extreme50
Metal tail blade upgrades with Thrust bearings
2 Spare Mainshafts
2 Spare Spindle shafts
2 Flybars

I was told that the only worth wile upgrade were the Tail blade holders and every other option was bling.

And a guarantied support from the Importer/Large LHS.
They are matching (and beating) the Align prices and you get 2 items per package.

I have ordered an Extreme50 G10 and can't wait to build it.

It will be build with Micrometers, Vernier Calipers and Dial Indicators.

It better be an improvement on My R50SE with a TT53.
