I was just very curious about the opinions of the readers, if the Vibe 50 has anything to offer in terms of advantages over the RJX bird?

I hate to say this...but when they copy Vibe 50's tail shaft drive, I think they will be the same.

The RJX is cheap, only their not cheap on your pocket!!

Got to be the Vibe 50 without doubt !!

Since the Hurrican was released and was quite clearly an Airskipper clone, I've not really had that much respect for RJX heli's.
Now I'm sure there are lot's of people out there that love 'em and thats just fine and I won't try to rain on their parade, but for me personally I'd rather just use RJX for spare parts that might be out of stock or just hard to get for my own Airskipper 50.

For me, it's JR every time. Don't jump on me guy's it's only my own opinion and nothing more O.K. !!

Cheers

hi

all these assumptions are from people that havent flown both back to back thus have no "realistic comparisons"..

Funny thing is, a lot of people sold their birds TO GET the Xtreme 50..

Ill wait to see people who have flown both to see what the consensus is..

Out of the box, with NO upgrades, as of RIGHT NOW.. this bird is the best..

Of course, its only MY opinion

Crash-Prone and overcoming it!!!

Like I said. After building a vibe I will hardly try anything else.

MY opinion

Tony

PS - remember I was a loyal Hirobo entusiast and eventhough I have a 600N, I think that it only sells so well because it flies like bats from hell.

I don;t know what is cheap about my xtreme 50.. its got carbon fiber frames, complete metal head, metal tail..., fiberglass canopy...
Maybe I am missing something but i am very satisfied with it...
I thought about buying a vibe 50 as well just to have another bird and I know Jr is a great product as well... but I need to sell something first..

I've got an extreme 50, but from my experiences and also on build quality, the Vibe 50 is definately superior. The Xtreme will be going to pastures new very soon !!

Where are you basing your information on?

Have you looked at Heli Direct or Cajion heli's, as I understand it they both carry the Xtreme 50 and parts.

Seriously I don't think since RJX of USA came on the scene a few years ago other that reciently running out of Xtreme's and having them back in stock in a week there has been a shortage of parts availability.

Seems like there are a lot of opinions!! Everbody always says "JR quality," but what does that mean? The only bird that JR has put out that has not required significant upgrades is the Vibe 90!! The Airskipper is a good bird, but expensive and heavy, the Venture (which I owned one) was a descent bird but required some upgrades in the head and difficulty with parts availability, and so on. I do agree that JR birds are smooth and quiet, but I wish people would stop staying "legendary quality" because it does not seem that the facts support any more than other Heli's out there!!! I just want to know at the end of the day, which bird do you believe is going to be the most reliable, aerobatic heli out there with good parts support.

good parts support? 600N for sure (even if you're not comparing)

Hassle free? We don't know. The vibe has been out for only 2 weeks or so.

Performance? Latest comments I've been given is that the Vibe is a top contender.

Build robustness and know how? JR no doubt

Constantly evolving to try to meet customers needs? RJX

YOu're not going to get a strait answer on this.

Tell you what... download a pic of the vibe 50 and the extreme. The one you like the best is the one you should buy. They all perform reasonably well for our capabilities.

Tony

PS - You're asking on the JR forum, what did you expect? Rjx cheerleaders?

No I did not expect RJX Cheerleaders, in fact I have always been especially interested in the Vibe 50 since I first read about it. Since the RJX product is somewhat loosely modeled after JR products, I thought I would get a more honest answer from JR guys, rather than guys who have to justify a 700.00 price tag for a bird not too many people have heard of!

I like both helis... I may have a vibe in my hanger someday as well

Also keep in mind that in the U.S. you have only one source for RJX parts.

Let me tell you a little story about JR helis here in the US.....

Once upon a time across the pond there was released a helicopter called the Airskipper 50 (just one of many foreign helicopter that the USA will never see- but anyway....)
I was one of the first from the USA to order one from overseas, followed by several others.
Once the Airskipper WAS carried by Horizon, I personally supported at least half a dozen Airskipper pilots with parts from Japan, as Horizon did not have stock.

Well, when RJX started to sell the Hurrican, then it was easier to get certain spare parts from that one source than any Horizon dealer because- as you know- if the distributor doesn't even have the parts.......

Anyhow, I have owned EVERY SINGLE helicopter JR has put out since the Ergo (with the exception of the Gasser) and I still own an Airskipper, 2 Sylphide 50's and a Sylphide 90.

Does that give me a little credibility to weigh in on the subject?

The Xtreme is a solid helicopter with well machined parts and a well thought out design. It is priced right. It is easy to get in the US. There is a limited parts distribution channel, but I do not think that you will ever be without mainshafts or spindle shafts. I have never had the luxury of a LHS to buy parts from, and if yours carries anything other than Raptor stuff then you are lucky anyhow.
I have ALWAYS ordered parts by phone, mail, or internet.
You get the same service from RJX- you can order by phone or internet and your order will be handled in a more personal manner than you are used to, I am sure.

On top of that, I think that if you have problems with the Vibe 50- and you all know that it's going to happen (they all will not be perfect)- then who will you call to address it? HORIZON? What's the number to the heli specialist?? I get better attention from my friends across the pond but that's another story.
THere have been problems with the Hurrican and the Xtreme, but read up!!!! They have been addressed completely as far as I have read.

As far as I am concerned, I will stick with the Xtreme UNLESS the motor mount for the Vibe has the same critical dimensions as the Voyager motor mount so that I can mount one of my MANY JR IMZ-RV50s motor in it.
And even then, I think the Xtreme head would do the Vibe 50 some justice....

My $.02
