Yes lets get the shogun forum going again the are not going to become an endangered species and i like my shogun a lot. For the price you get a well built heli. Lets talk about discussion and tips on here and How our flights have gone.

To start this is what i have done to my shogun:
Walkera brushless motor
EF 20 amp brushless esc
Hs-55 tail servos
GY400 gyro
Carbon main blades
Blade 400 stabilizer fins

Here is a tip if anyone has a gyro that has to be parallel to the chassis or has to lie flat. If you have an extra stabilizer fin holder throw it on right before the tail servo. It is easy and cheap.

If anyone has any upgrades such as tail baxes, !!REAR TAIL GRIPS ALUMINUM!!, or anything else let me know. Or if you have any crashed or old shoguns you don't want anyomore then PM me

I'm currently using those same blades on my Shogun and my MX400 Pro. They're cheap and fly reasonbly well for what I do. I'm still just doing hover and limited forward flight, learning to do nose-in hover.

They're a lot more pliable than the carbons, so they're not going to be nearly as responsive as you're used to. I've tried carbons, but at my level they are just too quick.

Well flying went alright tonight...with everything else but the Shogun! It slew ok but the tail stills wags even witht the Gy400 gyro. I need to find another brushless motor considering my walkera one is now JUNK1!

I've got a dozen guns...six flying. I've got every upgrade variant available including hubdave, heliup, microheli, HDX, and all the EVOFlight upgrades. My favorite is one with a hubdave frame and belt drive, microheli tailbox and rotor, EVOFlight swash, hub, blade grips and pitch slider and heliup washouts/mixers/flybar carier, elevator arm & crank and Aileron bell crank. Its running a medusa 28-40-3400 and Xtreem main blades, EF CF tail blades. Its a TRex shamer...but a bit pricey.

My second favorite is a full Heliup gun with the silver frame. Its running a JGF450. With Heliup no longer in the gun business, its too valuable to me to put lots of time on. this one needs the Xtreem blades as well.

My everyday flier has all the EF upgrades plus a microheli tail and a hubdave frame and belt drive. It uses a JGF400DH. SAB blades gurilla gear.

If you guys want any info on any upgrades, let me know.
