The gearing would be a little off... I think I looked at this as well because I was thinking of using the new scorpion motors for the T500 in my Lepton.
The Trex 500 motors have a KV of 1400-1600. For it to work in the Lepton you would need a pinon in the range of a 10 tooth.
As far as I know there arn't any pinions for a 5m shaft that are that small...the other problem you may get into is the main gear stripping with that low a pinion.

Align motor is 1600kv which is too high for Lepton. Hyperion motor is 890kv. With 4s setup, you need to use 22T pinion, right?
I am running 6S with Hacker A30-12XL (770kv) and i need to use 18T pinion. I think it is not really possible to use Align motor.
