I was just buzzing around the T.P., minding my own business, when HE returned, looking for revenge! My old nemesis from the Old Country, The BugMan!

That was awesome shiz! So does that stuff make you grow an extra nut? Or shrivel one?

Well I got a battery through the Rex before it got dark but that was it. That makes for flying 2 days in a row. If I can pull off tomorrow, that will make 3!

On a separate note, back flips are on my mind and I mean big time. I just need to have a good set of 3-4 batts in a row and then maybe I will have the balls to try one again. The good news is that the Rex is a little nastier now setup wise, so the flip should happen a lot faster. Well at least I hope it does ... we will have to see.

Hey Shiz,

that was hilarious!!!! loved the sound effects.

I remember when i was a kid, we could not wait for that guy to come around. He would drive by and then we would all go out and run through the fog. I am sure that at some time I will find out I took 10 years off my life because of inhaling the chemicals.

Just checked - no extra packaging or shrinkage. Don't have much to spare anyway.

It seems that in the past that "mystery fog" smelled atrocious - there was no odor today. ??? Maybe a government agent bringing the chemtrails to ground level? I guess that stuff is why trailer parkers are paranoid.

Hi all

Practiced some backwards flying on my hbfp today and finished building a full separates cp2. Flew it in my backyard and it is incredibly sloppy and jumpy. The stock tail motor died after a few minutes too

Are you running a 3S battery? They burn tail motors out pretty quick. It should last far more than a few minutes though.

I had a short but tumultuous relationship with a CP2 back in the day. Incredibly twitchy, though in retrospect I think I just didn't know the ins and outs of a CP heli yet.

As far as the jumpiness, do a search on any RC heli forum for "sticky collective". The CP2 and Blade CP are plagued with this. Add collective; add collective; add collective; nothing. Suddenly, WHAM! into the ceiling or a tree branch.

Basically, the step washers in many of the blade grip assemblies either were left out or installed backwards. There are some other issues and fixes involved in "sticky collective" as well.

Ya I'm running 3S. This tail motor has actually been used in a heli I scratch built for a big school project. It hasn't been flown much but I think the tail motor was under a lot of stress in that heli and was dying out during it's last flight. I was a noob and the heli was not durable so I got a hbfp to learn on. Just today I received some parts in the mail to finish rebuilding the scratch built as a cp2 (It already had a lot of cp2 parts on it).

I know about the sticky collective and I assembled the grips correctly when I built the heli. When it jumps, it only jumps a few inches but it happens constantly and it's very annoying. Could this be caused by slop?

Mine did the same thing, even after multiple correct rebuilds. I never did find out why it wouldn't stay put vertically. Eventually, I gave up trying to fix it and started trying to fly it. I never succeeded.

Knowing what I know now, I'd love to be able to tear into it and really find out what was wrong. I'm thinking that maybe something sticks in the washout or head block slider and suddenly releases, causing abrupt altitude changes.

Try soaking it in silicone spray. If it gets better for a while and then comes back, that may be the problem.

Shiz that was great!

-------------

Flew 3 packs today. Still very windy, but I didn't let that stop me. Still getting used to the Xtreme motor. Is quite a bit louder than the 3800 and sucks more current. But it does have a bit more power. With the 3800 I was able to get the tail to kick out on full collective. Now there's a little wiggle then it centers. Nothing like before. And folks, that's with the stock pulley and the stock tail blades!

I did put on my B400 main gear. With 300+ flights on the current main gear, I thought some of the noise was coming from it. The new main gear is a little quieter but not much and all of it gets drowned out by the motor.

Also I found out another orientation I'm not entirely comfortable with -- Nose-in, FF headed straight for me! It happened a couple times when I was working on nose-in 8s. Went a little wide coming out of the eight and ended up coming right at me. No crashes, but lots of adrenaline. I guess its time to start practicing dive bombing the pilot! Oh yeah, playing chicken with myself. Good times.

that has to be one of the craziest things ever...you mean ,where you live they just come by randomly and spray chemicals in the air,if you are on your front lawn in a chair they will come by and spray you?what if you are allergic or have ashma(spelling?)...this has to be some kind of government thing with trailerparks, although, it would explain a lot

Our city did the same thing a week or so ago you cant imagine the bug problem we had with all the flooding. He went down my alley at 4:30am just as I was leaving for work on my harley sucked in those sickening stomach churning pesticides for a 1/2 mile. What a start to a day huh?

When my heli jumps, it only jumps a few inches but it happens constantly making it impossible to hold a constant altitude. Is this more likely to be caused by slop or sticky collective? I heard graphite powder works very well on the slider. Maybe I'll try that.

Last time I saw the bug truck was about 10 years ago, but T you are right it was after some big time flooding and there was standing water all over the place. The bugs and mosquitos were major. THe county pretty much told everyone to be indoors from 2-4am.

SO of course I got a phone call at that time and went out to head to work. I didnt know the county had that many trucks, but they basically fogged 30 sqaure miles in two hours. WOnder how bad that was for our bodies, but it did drastically reduce the bug pop for a few months.

As for flying, I am charging all batts as we speak. I have the new king done up with the CF frame, purplehead and tail, and a new 3800 motor. Although, I now have that red thnder tiger motor laying a round, hmmmmmmmm, might try that one out on the practice king.

I will get back to everyone on that one.

The bug truck runs in our sub division also. As he passed me, he shut it off then turned it back on after he passed on by. He must know the stuff isnt good for us.

We need video proof around here.

I am actually planning to put my new Align 430XL in my Mini so I too will have a red motor laying around ... makes one ponder

As for flying, I just got one gyro-less King2 flight in this morning. Now I am 4 hours from home and it just rained like Tigers and Wolves ... probably won't be flying anymore today.

Fender,

Upgraded to the scorpion. vvveeerrrryyy nice.

Put some align blades on and got a couple of 2200 25c FMA packs. She is rockin now. The motor is still hitting about 120, but it does not get over that, plus its around 85-95 ambient anyway.

I just had to rebuild her due to an intentional crash to avoid my girls who werent supposed to come out of the garage when daddy flies. Long story, but the end result was hit throttle hold and full forwad cyclic into the street. Was not going to take any chances.

Mostly Fender, just LOVE the MINI.
