I flew about 10 batts tonight. = 90 minutes flight.

I have 2 chargers, I think I could use 2 more.

As my batts age, charge time goes, from 30 to 55 minutes.

Even at 2C

Good to hear mike. I still need to work on my circles. I have a hard time getting the tail to follow correctly. I mean I just don't use enough rudder and my circles get more and more square.

Oh and no flying today, so again I will hope for some tomorrow. This is turning into one of my longest no-fly spells ... 5 days ... it hurts a little at this point.

Been there Chris. The SIM can help fill the gap, if can stand feeling like you are on a treadmill.

Got 12 more flights (72.5 minute) in today on the new motor. Today's count takes me to 303 flights. Since Chris isn't flying this week, I'm hoping to catch up.

Anyway, the new motor seems to be quite a challenge for my power system. A little too much throttle and the current draw goes through the roof. Flight times drop and the pack temps exceed 125f (FMA). A little too low on the throttle curve, my flight times and pack temps are fine, but now the ESC is over 115f. I'm running a seperate BEC and have never seen the temp more than 105f, even it was 90f out. More tuning tomorrow and hopefully I'll find the magic throttle curve.

I flew today sorta. Was working on a Blade Cp/HBCP2/Hummingbird Elite Hybrid. Its a franken heli Not really enough of one heli to call it a specific heli. I also got out the slow stick and got my son some flight time.....He treed the slow stick, I couldnt believe it.

You see we have this humongous field behind our house the boundary between our property and the gigantic field is heavily treed. I kept telling him keep the plane way out in front. Next thing I knew I was saying "what are you doing?" It disappeared in the trees. We found it but I had to do some serious tree shaking to get it to fall. Put a hole in the wing about the roundness of a pencil. Im trying to get him interested in flying instead of PS3-ing. He says he wants to fly but says I wont get him his own helicopter or plane. Hmmm, what ever happened to earning your stuff. He's 14 and makes a little here and there. He does help out in the Darth's heli body business but I know he wants me to foot the whole bill. He'll buy a PS3 game long before he invest in anything RC. Mabey theres hope. I flew the Slow Stick in a confined area after getting it out of the trees and he thought it was pretty amazing to see me stand the plane nose up just about hovering. What he didnt know i was trying to avoid a pine tree i was heading toward .

Dart.

Sounds frustrating.

Your comments reflect you understand that

Buying stuff for a kid doesn't necessarily = interest.

Just a thought:

Do you have a sim in the house?

Good luck, glad you got it out of the tree.

OK I'll say it as I have before, sims suck. But darth I too flew my slow stick by a plane eating tree tonight I tore up everything I had today. I didnt notice the wing slipped forward on a rough landing took off with a tailheavy plane and with a slowstick on 11.1v lipo it would just stand on end every time I gave it throttle stall dive stall dive stall dive tree oops 40ft up on the end of a weak limb I climbed the tree shook the limb the fall jarred it so hard both control horns broke off the surfaces and stripped a servo. All when I was just getting the hag of it 3rd flight but the first one I actually got any flying done.

I actually flew 2 packs in the Rex today, I have not felt that disconnected from my heli in a long, long time. First off I swapped blades and they were out of track. I got them mostly in track but not perfect. Then the tail was kicking way out when I popped it up. So I increased the gain. Ok notw that was bettery but not perfect. Then there was me, I was useless. I didn' crash it and never really had any close calls, but compared to my last flight (did a back flip on that one) ... I was asleep at the sticks.

Lesson learned today, fly everyday! Even if it is just hovering a pack in the front yard. Just get stick time in everyday.
