| I had a very brief flight this morning. Helidirect sent me a box of parts over the weekend and I spent last night repairing the crash damage from last week.
I decided to not use loctite on the bolts in the feathering shaft since I crash and replace the feathering shaft at least once a week.
So you already figure out the reason for my short flight. Two minutes into the flight, my HBK2 exploded in mid-air, with each mainblade departing in opposite direction. I found the airframe, and one blade, but couldn't find the other. I was luck enough to hit throttle hold before the crash so I didn't strip the brand new maingear. But to help me find the wreck in tall grass, I ended up powering up the motor for a split second to locate the screeching motor, that was enough to strip half an inch of the maingear :-(
Don't skip the loctite even if you think you'll need to take it apart in a few flights! |
