Thats how he rolls!

I just went out and threw the 450 around practicing autos. I can do them they are actually easy from eye level about 5ft as long as I dont flare too early. I was actually popping up after I hit the switch on 1ft autos. But now for a duh question. Is it possible to set it down as smooth on concrete as you do under power? I get a small I mean small bounce barely noticeable more of just a little harder sit down.

I haven't been able to do it. No matter what, I get a small bounce. That's if I've done it right. Its a big bounce if I've done it wrong

right now only 1 at a time, but thats the plan,a cellpro10s and 4 batts so I will have 7 batts (8 total incl 1350) with the ability to charge 3 at the same time.THEN I wil be getting some flight time

I flew 4 packs at dusk when the wind settled down. 2 packs in the beam getting normal mode dialed in, it still needs tweaking. Then I get to figure out Idle up 1 & 2. The other 2 packs I flew on the king. I have such a blast with it around the yard I don't know why I ever wanted to sell it. I think a xtreme frame is in the future for the king, and maybe some nice cf mainblades.

I like the xtreme frame better. I was actually thinking about the sab 280mm blades, I think shizack runs them on his king.
Here is a pic for you tryan.

If I ever do a scale 450 it will most likely be an airwolf or this.

The SAB 280's are awesome. I was concerned at first, having to use spacers, but they track as well as the Esky CF's and fly great.

They were spot-on perfectly balanced and CG'd out of the pack.

Plus, they're white CF blades. What more could you ask for?

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

Shiz, where'd you get the SAB blades? The only place I could find them is Helihobby and they are $40. I have the Helimax white CF blades and they were only $25. They are only 275mm but I think thats the longest I'd want to go with the HBK2. There is already some overlap between the main the tail blades. If I ever have the good fortune to go inverted, I don't want to worry about contact.

I know someone who got 2 sets and he let me have one set. I don't know where he got them.

I have been running 292mm blades for some time on my king I wouldnt try 3D with them or even loops or rolls but for scale flight even FFF they work awesome and provide the lift needed for a heavier heli. And you just cand put white blades on a black heli.

can you explain this,I am running stock blades 275mm and there is no way the main blades will contact the tail blades, dougs has done plenty of inverted and I've done a little with the HBK.Is yours modified in some way??right now I have 450 size tailblades on my HBK and the closest the main/tail blades can get is at least 1/2 inch

ok,yes just got my HBK in front of me and with a stock set up(head/blades/tail)there is no possibility the tail/main blades will touch........am I missing something??

Im running cheapie MX400 292mm blades that stick out well over the tailblades. As you know when the rotor disk is spooled up it planes out an will not just bend away from the heli unless the dampeners are shot or the head is sloppy. But for some reason people are scared of the longer blades. I only have a fingers width between mine and there are no problems even with the worn dampeners In my head assembly.

I would imagine that you could let us in on this fender but isnt the extra lift of longer blades welcomed giving more collective better for inverted flight.

hey I'm still in amazement that I'm doing inverted, and have to remind myself to breath,I haven't even considered flight characteristics while inverted yet

TRYAN,those are the 292MM blades?it looks like they might just BARELY touch. Now I'm really curious to GREGGORS statement,I just dont see it
