thats a good solid somewhat high headspeed with the right pitch a perfect number for the Rex450 you got but its personal preference what you want out of the heli with my king Ill stick with 85%. But dont know about that nitro you wont let me fly.

Did some flying in the wind. First full flight all in idle up. I will say its a little surprising how often I was going below midstick during flight. In normal mode when slowing from a high speed run across the yard, I was going negative and you could hear the headspeed drop rapidly. In idle-up, slowing down happens much faster with no head speed drop. Nice!

Nice mini autos there Shiz. I'm working on those as well. Its hard to control, but not as fast of drop as you'd expect. I will admit to dumb thumbing it a couple times after landing and spooling down. In normal flight I never play with the t.hold or stunt switch. I accidentally flipped into idle-up when I meant hit throttle hold. Both times the heli was on the ground and just spun around rapidily. Surprisingly there was no damage to the main gear. I hear those guys with soft start ESCs have it so good that they switch from t.hold directly to idle-up. The ESC takes care of the gentle spool up. Perhaps I'm just not talented enough for economy electronics Just kidding! And dreaming a little.

The Align ESC will let you go directly to idle-up, but only if the throttle has been at 0 for 5 seconds or more. Hit it too quick, and that gear will strip faster than Paris Hilton at a photo-shoot.

And, if you're practicing real autos up high before you try them all the way down, it takes 10 seconds to spool back up. Could get ugly. When I get to that point, I'll have to disable soft-start. I'm used to the Dynam 30 in the King, and I don't spool up in idle anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem.

The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain.

they were all too Rex-snobbish to think there could be anything other than a thunder power battery and charger. One guy did have a BC6 and he was a little more open minded but not to charging over 1C. I watched him charge 3 packs and it took him like all night! I charged all 4 of mine in about the time it took to charge one of his. Now granted not all of mine were not fully drained but still, these guys are using $80 packs and waiting 70 minutes to fly them again!

dudes like this drive me absolutely INSANE.The worst part is I'm willing to bet none of them have ever tried any other brands,so how do they know TP is the best. They problably use it because either Alan Szabo or the OPRAH of the r/c world(a certain finless dude who, when he recommends something people buy it whether they need it or not)uses it.But they dont take into account that the top guys dont care if their 80 dollar batteries crap out after 75 cycles, they get cases of batteries as endorsement deals,so they just get a new battery.what really cracks me up is these guys going on and on about max discharge AMPS,insane headspeed,3d this 3d that, then you watch them fly and its like "are you kidding me" all this big talk and you did 2 loops and a stall turn.I'm not bagging on anyones abilty because if you fly its cool, but do you really need the most extreme of everything like you are entering the 3d masters to go out and sport fly??maybe its just me,but I'm happy as can be charging my 47 dollar fma batteries at 2c(hundreds of times)to go out and fly my HBK and MT

Fender

It makes me glad to have peers at RR to explore the technical issues with reason, rather than have to sort through the kind of BS that was being spread that day.

I dont know, maybe I'm WEIRD,but I've never bought anything just because someone I dont know uses it.I take recommendations from people here into consideration, but I research everything then make a decision based on my needs and flying abilty, like right now I want to get some new batteries and want to try something different(FMA stuff has been flawless, but variety is good)and I'm looking at the new performance plus batteries, good reviews, awesome price, and really good warranty. It seems my choices dont go along too well with the mainstream but I'm REALLY happy with all my decisions.....cellpro4s,fma batts,HBK,futabat6ex,logitec2100,MINI TITAN aaahhhhh chargers beeping, on my way to the field for a few batts before dark,be back soon

Interesting thought.

Today, the wind is erratic.

Calm, then a big blast out of nowhere!

I wouldn't want to test my skills, or yours Tryan in this.

did that yesterday with the 450 nothing then 15 or 20mph funny watching that gyro grab hold in a crosswind.

HH may make me a lazy pilot but it sure is nice on a day like yesterday.

Finally winds have slowed gonna go grab a pack but still 90 degrees.

Same here. The calm period makes you think its over. Then once you get in the air, bam! Nice thing is, if you don't crash the winds calm down in few minutes. Sitting sideways against the wind the gyro is going nuts, tail wag all over the place. Looks like the gain is too high but then its solid as soon as the wind calms down. The tail seems to hold much better while moving. Perhaps a little weather vining going on?

Fender, glad to have you back. Congrats on the role!
