Just a thought:

As my batteries "age", my run time goes down, and my charge time goes up.

I think this is normal.

I guess that's what it looks like.

They get tired.

I set my timer for shorter flight times to avoid unexpected power failures.

I don't want a tired battery to cause an expensive crash.

Then I pay for a new battery and parts.

Been there done that.

order more batteries now and cycle those to the back of the lineup for just those extra flights on a long day.

Quote
As my batteries "age", my run time goes down

As the cells slowly degrade, the internal resistance of the pack goes up. This will shorten run times and make the pack hotter toward the end of the run. If you don't shorten run times, the added heat at the end of the pack will cause the cells to degrade faster, leading to more internal resistance and even shorter run times.

Coupled with the internal capacitance adds a frequency component that can introduce a low frequency noise into the system.

Sorry Im a showoff

I just flew a pack had to readjust the tail servo on the rex after a belt change. I had a tail belt guide bearing stick and belt jumped off and started shredding the edge just figured I would throw it away a new belt is cheap insurance. Oh and you can bet that bearing got its first taste of tri-flow.

Got a few flights in today and managed to shoot a little vid...

Still working on the hovering orientations, but got to have fun once in a while and let the bird stretch her legs.

thank you T,

I just recently made Gregors ball link conversion and am still a little twitchy on the sticks. Of course when the camera is not shooting you get some better piros that stick in one spot, but thats the fun of it. One of these times I fly her with some clothes on!

BBB, you've come along way. Those toolman piros are looking really good.

I flew in the garage and little outside today. Picked up a few items from the newest branch of Harbour Freight.

IR Thermometer

Scale

It's been very interesting to see temps after a flight. I even broke out my old original FMA packs to how hot they were running. Last time I ran them they seemed very hot. Now I can find out the facts. The old packs after 80% consumed were around 120 degrees F. This is about the same temp as my new FMA 25c pack, so based on temps alone, those old packs are not as bad as I thought. For comparison, the Outrage 25c packs came off about 105F. Those are some nice packs.

The motor is about 120f which is alot hotter than it was with the 9t and the Esky balsa blades. I have 10t on now with the Align woodies and I hope the motor holds up because the setup is perfect.
