Man, DID I FLY TODAY??????

I transitioned from ground training gear nose in hover to:

Take off nose in.
Fly tail in.
Hover nose in
Land tail in.

I feel like a kid that just learned to ride W/O training wheels!

YIPEEE!!!!!!

Today when I saw how well Shiz was flying,

I realized I was holding myself back to not take a risk and go for it.

Yippeee!!!

Glad to be an inspiration! But check out Doug's vids if you really want something to shoot for...

It's a stunning day.
85*, clear skies, and barely a breeze.

Am I out there enjoying it?

No way. I'm inside working...

Not windy tonight!

Flew my "brains out!"

Not used to hovering "nose in".

I bet I hovered 20 minutes nose in.

West of 2old, same heat, but more wind. I still have the same start/stop gusts that have been going on for month or more. It stays calm just long enough to get the heli in the air, then the gusts pick up. Though I haven't let it stop me from flying, its getting really old.

Not Today

Had stuff to do all day (stuff I should have been doing all week, and didn't because work has been beating me to death).

And... It was in the 90's here today.
Maybe not too hot for some places, but is just doesn't get that hot here enough to get used to it, so it's suffocating.
And to think, it was snowing in the mountains here just a couple of weeks ago!!
And we had snow on the ground here about a month ago.

Lookin like it's going to be hot all week.
We don't get enough of this to really justify air conditioning, so we just suffer through it when it hits.
By the time it starts to cool off, it's dark out.

Maybe I'll fire up the SIM later.

But there's no wind!

It has been dead calm here.
I wish the wind WOULD kick up a little, it would help cool the house down!

BeltCP decapitation

Not me, but padawan had an adventure. It was quite breezy, as a storm was moving in, and gusts were unpredictable and harsh. He did well, but it proved to be too much.

But, in keeping with the spirit of "paying it forward", I raided my spares box an assembled this for him. It's a King head, but it should work on the Belt, right?

Man -o man ShiZ, The head just popped right off The King head will definately work. The King head has plastic balls instead of metal and a few minor differences but all the dimentions are the same. He might want to invest in a nice CopterX CNC head right about now or maybe not

Hovered 3 packs through the Mini this morning. I am still getting used to this pinch thing but it is getting easier. I also made a change on ths Mini, I swapped out the 315s for 325s and wow, that made a bigger difference than I would have guessed. I can now hover at about 1/8 stick less throttle! The reason for the change is because I am fighting a run time issue. Over the last 50 flights my run times have decreased from a little over 8min to not less than 7min. Something is not happy, that is for sure ... I just can't figure out what. I am starting to suspect the motor bearings or something as the whole rest of the drive train runs free, quiet and smooth. The motor spins freely but I wonder if it not happy at 30000rpm.
