shizack, 720 piro is easy as well as a 360. i'm doing any 2, 3 or 4x piiro easily and even if i stop nose in i will just put the tail back to me. all due do rad's school of flight. i never forgot when he said:

rembember, you try nose in, and if something goes wrong you already know your heli very well so turn it tail in and get control of it. well at least works for me=) sometimes i try nose in and things don't go that well but i don't ever crash because i gain control of it in time.

i'm waiting for my futaba square cord to practice in the reflex model simulator xp

Flew my new Big Hind D 450 in the wind yesterday, and it was windy. Had a few hairy moments mostly while trying to maintain a hover. It was like one of those times you think to yourself, Naaa its to windy but you guys know what it is like when you just gotta have your fix. Well, I didnt crash or even have a hard landing but as the wind gusts came, the heli was bobbing up and down pretty fiercely, any attempts to land during those times were quickly aborted. At one point I was thinking I hope I dont run out of battery before I could get it safely on the ground. After I landed the heli I went in and put the battery on charger just to check the voltage because I knew I kinda extended the flight waiting for a good time to land. Battery read 10.66 volts also, when it did land there wasnt enough power to pick the heli back up off the ground. So, I guess it was about to land regardless Guess what I did next, I went and got out a non scale pod and boom belt Cp and decided to take it for a spin: I didnt crash it but I sure thought I was. It already felt light as a feather compared to the Hind. I had no idea why I got that out after going through the ordeal with the Hind. The heli was all over the place. Did I fail to mention it was windy, very windy. I tell myself I wont do that again but seemingly it just words. I dont really think Im alone.

Your not alone, When I need a heli fix It really doesn't matter what the weather is. I try to pick nice days but you know if you need to fly you'll pretty much fly in anything. Afterward I always say I won't do that again but I still do it...

I just put two packs through the King. I hadn't flown it since the crash and today there wasn't too much wind, so it was time to see it in the air again. I grabbed the king and went to check the tracking on the workbench when I noticed something odd. One blade was just loose (pitch wise). So I looked closer and the seesaw thingy that rides on the bearings on the main hub was broken. I took it all apart and found out that the crash also broke one of the paddle control arms. Good thing I had spares. Anyhow after 45 minutes of figuring out how to tear everything down, putting it back together and setting the base pitch on the main blades, I was finally ready to check the tracking.

So I went out and the wind was odd. It was totally calm for a second and then there would be a 5-10mph gust. Then still again. Then it would blow 3-5mph constant for a minutes and then go still again. Man that reeks havoc on my skills as a pilot. But I did learn something. About half way through my second battery the wind got more constantly gusty (if that term works). So I got to try and hover it having to constantly adjust everything. I found that I was getting decent at keeping it near the same elevation by constantly adjusting the throttle and I mean like 1/4 throttle changes. If the bird started to go up, I would counter with down and visa versa. The whole time I was having to also keep it level and pointed the right direction. But I did good and I never one sat down hard or left about a 10 sq.ft. box. I found it fun but also very tiring.

And one more thing. I am tired of my el-cheapo HK blades. I somehow got a tiny ding in one blade tip and the plastic just tore off. I think I may go the Align 315 route and chop them.

First, good for you that you noticed something not right with the King.

Congrats on your successful encounter with "Mr Wind".

I can relate to the satisfaction of facing new horizons W/O a crash.

Ask me if I can fly nose in. :)

Woe this wind is a bit much yet I just flew one pack in the gusty winds. Flying fine so I decided to spin her around and do some nosein 6ft high on the front step not a good Idea, first wind gust hit I freaked out turned it around and took it 10 or 12 ft high got my bearings back. I fought off the shakes with a few piros and decided to quit while I was ahead.

i flew now 1 pack in the belt cp and another one in the hbk2 with 11mph gusts of wind. didn't crash and it was very funny making some 8 circuits. i wasn't able to do that circle thing yet. maybe in a less windy day. the belt cp is more stable than the HBK2 but honestly, i didn't notice any difference flying those 2 except for the weight of the belt cp that makes him more stable in the wind. i love them both

I am kinda suprised that you guys are saying that the "figure 8's are easier than the "little circles" with the figure 8 you have to turn left and right and the circles are only one direction ??

One heli, I just lost control the other basically the same thing but it was more so trying to do something a had no business trying. One was a scale and the other was a P & B. I think I was due, I havent bought parts in a long while. damages were not major just the usual stuff, blades and feathering shafts, one bent boom and a few small bits.

,i just don't feel confortable with the idea of turning the heli completely nose in in a maneuver. but i will try it for sure when there's no wind. i hope tomorrow.

I didn't get to fly today because it was non-stop wind. Well that and I was out of town. I did buy heli parts thought, if that counts
