I ran my usual 6 packs at the gym but today was my first real use of the 7C. All went well except for another "glitch" that caused my heli to totally loose power for about a second. I was hovering side-in about 3 ft off the floor and the motor just quit. It floated down and landed fine. Once it settled I grabbed the throttle again and it was fine again. It happened on my 6th battery. Now I know it was not the radio that did it last time and am wondering is maybe the ESC is to blame. I have a park 3A BEC I plan to install soon and hopefully that will fix this problem.

Sorry to hear about the problems Chris. But at least you now a 7c to show for your troubles From the symptoms it may be that ESC going into thermal shutdown. That's my ELE was doing and I think that's also what Tryan's ELE did. In my case it was caused by too much current being drawn from the onboard BEC. The Park BEC will help and if the ESC is still ok you'll be fine. If the ESC is failing for other reasons or it is getting cooked by the on-board BEC, then you'll need a replacement.

Ok the King revamp is done and it only took an hour. I went ahead and installed the R617FS RX (hey I own it ... I will just sell the 607 with the 6EX), the Hobbywing 3A selectable BEC and B400 balls and links on the servos. Here is a pic

I used 2 packs for trimming to perfect hover. I was able to do hands off for 3sec before it started to move. flew around with 2 pack, mostly hovering and piro's.
Also lifted a huge camera my friend gave me http://www2.oregonscientific.com/sh...scid=77&pid=709 for Aerial Video. worked it pretty good. 1st tries was shaking a lot so I balanced the blades some more and went smooth. but camera was installed tilted so video didn't come out good.

Flew 3 packs yesterday but I was feeling very disconnected from the heli, so I stopped early. In all the time I’ve been flying, I’ve never felt that out of control. After the first battery I should have stopped but Chris keeping the pressure on, I wanted to try two more times to see if the sensation would pass. It didn’t, so I most worked on hovers tail and both sides.

Today was a much better day. After taking off the training gear last weekend, I feel I’ve lost about 2 week’s worth of skills. It’s mostly nerves and didn’t realize how secure the TG had made me. Well, there’s only one cure for that and it’s not more sim time. So I pushed through the knee knocking to re-discover the skills I already had. 13 batteries later and it was back to where I had left off with the TG. With Chris about to blow past me, I need to keep up the pace so I don’t fall too far behind

I don't know about this "blow by me" stuff

Actually mfcrash was working on side-in today Not bad for this being his 4th week. So I gots to keep up the regimen or I am gonna get blown by!

As a note I was doing something new today. I was doing toolman tjinguy hybrid piros. Hover the heli while having it slowly rotate through all the orientations while walking slowly around it the opposite direction. That takes a bit of concentration. Man I am loving this not being tied to tail-in any more! Next I gotta up the stress and try all this without TG ... I am working towards it and almost gave it a try today.

Next challenge: Do it inverted.

heh heh....

It's comin'!
I have everything but the batteries & charger (& spares) ordered.
I should have it all here & ready to assemble by mid next week. Kind of hoping for the maiden flight to be next week-end.

AND FWIW, I do too have a heli! A couple of them in fact.
I have a CX2 Coax that is a real kick in the pants outdoors, and is helping me with orientation training (been starting nose in hovering with it).
And
A Walkera 4#3 FP (which is down right now waiting for a new Rx).

Now THERE's a fun little heli!
180mm main rotor, weighs 43g all up.
Perfect for hovering around the office!

I got a question for yall why did in the late 90's, during free preview of HBO CINEMAX or whatever network constantly have a karate kid marathon?

Must be a classic my son.

I know this is ESKY forum but the titan is a great flier. I got 8 batteries through her tonight. I flew till i couldnt see it anymore. I also needed to charge my radio. I got it down to 9.6. The MT makes me feel like i can do anything. It still has a little tail bob but it flew so good i just ignored it. Man im gonna be up late charging batteries. Getting ready for tomorrow.
