I flew 3packs today in the gym. I would have flown my 4th but I mistakenly put the 3rd back in and then tacked on another 5 minutes. Good thing it was a 2100 and I was running the new "fuel efficient" 3900. At about 5 min in it started to really loose power. That is when I though I forgot to charge a pack again but it turned out that #4 was still fully charged ... dammit I hate when I do that. #3 was at 10.69v and I put back in 93% through the balancer which usually adds about 4%. That puts it at roughly 89% discharged.

Anyhow I spend the first pack just getting to know the king again after my 5 day break. The second pack was dedicated to nose-left and I did very well. I lifted it up tail-in and turned it left. Then I held it there for about half the pack before mfcrash has a pinion slip on him. So I landed it side-in and helped him for a minute. Then I took off side-in, now that is tough, and finished the pack off. Easy as pie. The final pack was all about piros. Since tryan told me about adjusting EPA to increase the piro rate, piros are way faster. I started at 125% and think I will go to 140% like Mr. Speed freak.

Anyhow tomorrow will be the same, 4 more packs in the gym working on side-in and maybe nose-in.

Well the king got another 4 packs run through him today and one was not me. I let one of the local long time plank pilots give my heli a go. Man that was stressful. I gave him a 2min explanation of what to expect and how to respond to everything and he did amazingly well. He started off drifting way left but by the end he was able to hover about 6" to a foot off the floor for maybe 30 seconds sometimes. I guess it helps that he flies a fast and touchy sport plane and does a lot of advanced moves with that. Oh and he is a pincher, so I gave pinching a try for the first time and it is not terrible but man is it different. I ran a whole battery through it but I never felt in real control. I do like the added feel of it though.

mfcrash is getting bolder and bolder and eve did his first piros today. Not bad for his ~20 pack ever! Soon he will surpass me and then what am I going to do? No really he is making great progress.

Rained for all day yesterday and today about 5:00 it stop and calm. took the heli out in parking lot soon as I get a lift off high wind comes in it didn't stop, I landed with a few chipped monocote on blades. Remove and balanced the blades then wind got calm but it was cold. I flew 3 packs any ways, one pack on trimming and tracking. The Telebee gyro needed a lot of trimming during flight today, may be because it get colder with down wash from blade during flight. Tomorrow more wind and cold, hopefully bad weather will leave here soon.

I flew the King again today with the 2200mah batts. I really like flying with those. I bet they would be too big for 3D, but for my flyin skill they are right on.

I did something new last night, I met mfcrash at a local street light for some 9pm flying. Man the mosquitoes were terrible! And the wind was a pretty constant 1-3mph, so newbie was fighting it pretty hard. Lets just say I have no idea how he didn't end up sideways in the grass

I ran my 2 2100s and he ran his 3 2100s. Good time and we will definitely be doing that again. Although I have been eyeing the city tennis courts for a while ... with their nice bright lights and partial wind blocks ... maybe we will try that soon.

Flew today and Night.

Flew 3 packs after all this rain, wind and cold. This after noon, snow stopped, wind calm and weather warm up. I flew 4 packs, first test run with Esky 10C, not enough power but good warm up. Then Electrifly 900Ma 20C, very sporty pack, light and a lots of power. then Esky 2200 20C, heaviest battery, good long time fly. Last pack HobbyCity 2200 20C very light and power ful, flew really good with this pack. I think I did some figure 8's, just fly around in the park doing stupid stuff, then did some side in and landed on roof my car, at the end.

Came home and charged batteries with various chargers I got. Then decided to put the CP2 back together, Fly that with HobbyCity battery and crashed, may be should have check everything before attempted to do fast forward. Only old blade broke so replace, recheck and fly smooth as it ever was.

Battery recharged about 10:30pm, went to town to pick up some food, took the batteries just in case there are some bright parking lot lights with no cars sure enough there was so I empty all the batteries there with HBK. They were bright enough and high enough do some nice flying. I guess I'll be hitting that spot for some nigh flying during summer.

My mornings are starting to all look the same. Get up ... take shower ... eat something ... go to office ... check email ... head to gym to fly heli from 9am-11am ... get back to the office ... start charging packs ... go to lunch ... rinse and repeat. I gotta tell ya, it is a hard life.

Today was about the same but we got done a little earlier and they turned on the air conditioning so now the gym is not entirely wind free. I guess it just makes it more interesting. I flew my 4 packs through the King with the Align 285s on it and probably won't be doing that very often. Those things are way harder to swing and knocked 2+min off my flight times. They do fly well though I will keep them for special occasions like when China goes on vacation.

Very surprised to hear this. Now I'm starting to think that going with 275 wasn't such a bad decision after all. I didn't think the extra length would be that much harder to rotate. Which batteries were you running? What is the total time?

I think it is the added weight more than anything but the extra length isn't helping. I haven't compared the two weight wise but feeling them, I would put the Aligns at half again heavier if not more. Of course I did cut down a pair of 335s I had and maybe they have some more weigh in them than the 315s.

I should have been grounded. Just did a hard climb resulting in loosing the tail, lost control of the heli, and well BAM into the hard ground. What a pain. Time to install another set of mains and feathering shaft at least.

Thats an interesting video. Also interesting how it flew for quite a while after the motor stopped. Cool. That looks like fun.
